He told me to rest but I couldn't. I lay awake unable to move or talk, a prisoner in my own mind planning my next move. I'm not sure what I'm going to do once I wake up, I could run but that's exactly what got me into this situation in the first place.
I listened to the doctors and nurses come in time and time again to update Xavier and check on my vitals. Every so often I feel Xavier's hand run up and down my arm leaving a trail of sparks making sure haven't evaporated into thin air.
Sometime ago the gashes covering my back began to burn and itch. Hours later my body felt like it was on fire, infection, the doctor says. As far as I'm aware I'm stable now. I'm not sure how long I have been listening but my guess it's been days. Austin has come by a few times to talk to me, he let me know Taylor's surgery went well and she is up and terrorizing him already.
He also apologized for ever bringing me to the party in the first place which earned a growl and smack I can only assume from Xavier. But it meant a lot knowing that he never meant for this to happen, it was just a mistake of fate.
Sighing internally I try for the 5th time today to make my fingers move. Up and down. You can fucking do it fingers just move. The rage bubbles up inside me when again they refuse. I'm going out of my mind without anything to do. It's been me and my thoughts for days, a person can only be alone with their thoughts for so long before they start speaking to the walls. Luckily before it can get that far one loud knock brought my attention to someone new entering the room.
"Hello Cassy" A familiar voice bellows out as quick steps echo through the room. "I guess hello to you too Xavier" Austin's voice rang out before the bed dipped causing my body to roll down slightly towards him.
"Be careful" Xavier's gruff voice grumbles at Austin as he re-adjusts the blanket draped over me.
"What do you think Cassy, he's a stick in the mud eh?" Austin laughs nudging me. I smile in my head, nothing can bring him down can it. " Have the doctors given you a guess on when she will wake up Xavier?"
An exasperated sigh came from beside me "Its Alpha to you in public, and no they have no clue its when ever Cassy decides to wake up"
You Idiots I am awake! I scream inside.
"Maybe just maybe she doesn't like you and that's why she isn't waking up. Maybe if you leave us alone she will wake up because I am her favorite person ever" Austin says. I can almost picture the sly smile on his face as he watches Xavier about to blow his top.
"Maybe your just stupid" Xavier retorts as a hard thud hit the floor.
"You didn't have to push me off the bed, you could have hurt me then what" Austin exclaims overdramatically before laughing "No but seriously you should go shower really quickly I'll stay with her and make sure nothing happens"
A moment of silence passes "Are you sure she'll be okay?" Xavier asks quietly
"Scouts honor" Austin retorts jumping back up onto the hospital bed with me "I'll watch her like a hawk" He says smoothing my hair down earning another grown from the one and only Xavier, he seems to do that a lot.
"Alright I'll be back in 5 minutes Cassy" Xavier says directed towards me "And you don't do anything stupid" he fishes as the chair scrapes back letting me know he's on the move. Heavy footsteps head towards what I assume is the door before pausing for a second and continuing out getting quieter and quieter.
"Taylors been asking about you ya know. She asks me every time I go see her about you and if you woke up yet. I'm starting to think she cares about you more than me. She got to go home a few days ago but I bet when you wake up she'll be back here within hours, she's really taken a liking to you." Austin says as the word vomit continues to spill at an unimaginable rate. "I really can't thank you enough for not leaving her out there even though you didn't know who she was. You're a literal legend in my house, hell to all of wolf kind to be honest, the human Luna that withstood a rogue for a child. You could really milk that" Austin's contagious laugh filled the room.
