I just wish to contribute to this great community with my ideas and perceptions of the characters we all like 🥰.

Kenma fumbled nervously with the phone in his hand, opening and closing the chat between him and his best friend Kuroo over and over again. He stared at the screen as if he waited for Kuroo to text him first, unsure if that would make things easier or not. At least it wouldn't be as strange, since the setter normally only replied and rarely initiates anything.

Kenma: Kuro?

Kuroo: Hey Kitten 😸
: Is everything alright?
You rarely text first 🤔

Kenma: Yes, I just wanted to say
something...

Kuroo: Okaaaaay...

Kenma: 🎶 Baby, you and I are best
friends 🎶

Kuroo: "Baby"
: I don't think best friends call
each other "Baby"

Kuroo tried playing cool, however in reality he almost dropped his phone after reading Kenma's text.

Kuroo: Is this supposed to be a joke or
something?

K: This isn't like Kenma at all! He barely uses the nickname "Kuro" even though it's so similar to my actual name.

Kuroo: Did someone tell you to write
this?

Kenma: Well...

For a second the younger considered acting on the opportunity and ending this stupid "prank" early, but he didn't.

Instead, he held on to his last bit of courage and typed in the next message, followed by the next line of the lyrics.

Kenma: Just listen

Kuroo: 🤨

Kenma: 🎶 So I gotta keep a
distance 🎶

Kuroo: wait, What!?!
: Why? what is that even
supposed to mean?

Kenma: 🎶 Cause I don't wanna risk
the thing that we have, no 🎶

Kuroo: Risk? how?
: Kenma, you don't have to
worry about "risking" our
friendship. You know that,
right?

Kenma: 🎶 And my tongue I gotta bite
it 🎶
: 🎶 But it's oh so hard to fight
it 🎶

Kuroo: Fight what?
: or who?
: Kenma is someone threatening
you? 😡

Kenma: No

Kuroo: Then what are you talking
about?
: please, talk to me kitten!

Kenma didn't need to see or hear Kuroo to know that the other was getting agitated. It was probably for the best, that today was one of the rare occasions the two high schoolers didn't spend the day together. Otherwise, there was no way the setter would be doing this.
