Hello in here, I know I wasn't fair by abandoning this baby for months but I assure you that hopefully, I'd be able to update more often as soon as I get my writing mojo back. Thank you for sticking with me.
Gbemi stared on as she tried to digest the textbook she was reading, Exams aren't that near because of inter-house sport but she needs to read hard to make up for all the tests she failed. One week before inter-house sport, some teachers already rescheduled for her to take them again. She had to do a whole lot of begging and playing victim card then lie that she was feeling depressed because of her best friend. Many teachers bought the story that her best friend in Canada died from cancer and so they agreed she should retake the tests. She was on her way back to being one of the top students of BHS.
"Who will they use for our queen this year? I heard it's senior Crystal shaa and they will use her boyfriend for the king. the perfect couple, awwwnn." One junior cooed behind her and Gbemi closed her eyes in irritation. so much for trying to concentrate in this place. She was backing them and she felt like throwing something at them.
"Which kind, abeg make she rest jare. Senior Gbemi nko and senior Dunmininu, more than perfect couple sef." The other girl replied and Gbemi wanted to scream out loud. what the hell is wrong with these girls?. She closed her eyes and counted one to five before she punished them or worse she would deck one of them and the teachers will blame it on her depression.
"Shebi they've broken up now? and I loved their relationship oh. E be like all those Wattpad books. Bad boy good girl" The third girl chipped in and Gbemi felt herself close to losing it. These stupid children won't be the end of her. Gossiping about their senior with full confidence must be ment!.
"Don't you have things to do with your life other than gossip?" Dunmininu bellowed and Gbemi could hear everyone leave the class in hurry. No one wanted to get on the bad side of the head boy. Gbemi felt herself calm down and she was itching to turn back and look at him. They haven't been in the same space since that day. They avoid each other and she usually enjoys it although she misses him at times.
She heard him leave the hall and she decided to say Thank you. She knew he chased those juniors because of her and it would be somehow to not thank him. She turned around and she saw him leaning against the wall. She blinked back in surprise and he kept on staring at her like he was seeing her for the first time in months. All the words she wanted to say died in her throat as he took each slow steps closer to her.
"How long will you punish me for Jesugbemi? How long do I have to grovel for your forgiveness? Look what you've reduced me to Gbemi. If this is what loving someone does to you, then I don't want it again. I'm so desperate for you to look at me once again like I matter, I want you to call my name again not with disdain. Gbemi I'm so desperate for you. It's how you can see how I genuinely care for me" He said in exasperation and for once, Gbemi felt pity for him. She had missed him too but she wasn't ready for another hurt. the last one he got her into, she's yet to clear up the mess.
She didn't even realize he had gotten close to where she was standing, She was shocked when he cupped her face in his hands and stared at her like a tender egg. She wanted to shrug his hands off but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She had missed him too much to do that and she actually craved his touch. She stared at him closely and she took another step nearer and she stood on her toes before she pressed her lips against his. He was shocked but he recovered fast before pulling her closer and taking charge of the kiss.
