I smiled reading Riley's Instagram post, we had only just gotten back to New York late last night after a week with everyone celebrating, I had suggested to wait on going back but Riley being all business lately didn't want that I walked downstairs to see Riley leant over the breakfast bar with a cup of coffee in one hand and her phone in the next That's all mine, She is officially stuck with ne As I started to walk over to her I couldn't but smile more and more. When she was finally in my reach I wrapped my arms around her waist placing my head on her shoulder as I kissed her neck "Mm Morning to you too James" She chuckled turning around in my arms "Good morning" I replied placing a soft kiss on her lips "What are our plans today?" I asked "I have to go to the studio for the welcome day, but after that.. I'm free" She gleamed, it's crazy to think that summer was over and it was time for the dance season again
Riley and I have started to do things a little different then the way Miss Kate did and it seems to work. We audition for A-troupe every 3 years. In those 3 years we take that team to Regionals, Nationals and Internationals. We also audition for 2 alternates that will remain alternates the entire time. If we have someone from the team leave in those 3 years the alternates take there place and we would just audition more alternates. It's worked so far for us, here to our 3rd International Title
"Can I come?" I asked and she smiled "Of course, you should meet our potential team too" She said walking out of my arms to get ready Our last 2 teams have been nothing shy of amazing, it's safe to say our studio has made a very positive name for ourselves
We arrived at the studio to be greeted by Hope stood at the door letting people in "Hey Hope" Riley smiled hugging her "If it isn't the happy couple" Hope said now hugging me "we are already pretty full, you should see inside" Hope smiled, we both chuckled before walking in Hope was not wrong, the place was full of people, kids of all ages, there parents. The whole lot "I'm gonna run to the office then I'll head to the party okay?" Riley asked kissing my cheek "Okay babe" I smiled walking into Studio A "James!" Harry called rushing over, Harry had been an alternate on A-troupe the past three years but made it to Internationals after Jared fell ill. I know for a fact that boy is going to be fighting for his spot again "Hey Harry! What's up" I chuckled "I managed it!" He chimed, I looked at him confused before he did an amazing B Twist in front of me "Yes man! I knew you could do it" I said high fiving him "I couldn't have done it without you classes!" He smiled. Harry and I had been working one to one and in my hip hop classes to perfect some of him minor set backs. It means a lot to be able to see that its making a difference "James?" A voice said from behind me, I turned to be face to face with someone I never thought I would see again "Beth?" I asked making her step forwards
"What are you doing here?" I asked stepping backwards. I hadn't heard from her since the four leaf clover incident "I came to see you, when I found out you moved to New York I couldn't help but follow" She said placing an arm on my shoulder. I quickly shook it off looking around hoping Riley would be here soon "You moved here for me?" I asked and she frantically nodded "Well um that's all good and well but um" I started before Riley was by my side her arm intertwined with mine "Beth! How lovely to see you! I see you remember my Fiancé James" Riley smirked making me have to hold in a little laughter "fiancé?" Beth asked and Riley nodded showing her hand where the ring lay "I didn't know" Beth whispered sounded defeated "Oh I could have sworn you like our engagement photo on Instagram, I must be mistaken! What are we talking about anyway?" Riley asked, I love her jealous sometimes but I am surprised Beth hasn't been murdered yet "we were talking about how I moved to New York" Beth answered "Awesome! What are your plans out here?" Riley asked "I haven't figured that out yet, it was kind of a spur of the moment thing" Beth answered "well hey, if you are ever looking for a job I think we still having a cleaning job open right?" Riley asked me, I shrugged not having a clue about that, all the business side of things are left to Riley because we all know that if I tried to do anything it wouldn't go well for anyone involved "well it was nice to see you Beth but we have a party to host" Riley said taking my hand walking away leaving Beth in the dust. It's going to be hell if Beth is on her James bend again. The only difference this time is I know Riley wouldn't let her anywhere close. Not because she doesn't trust me but merely because she doesn't trust Beth
"Woah! Hello!" Riley said in to the mic as we all watched her make her speech "there are a lot of new faces here" she said looking around "Well as most of you know, I'm Riley, I run this studio and we are more then happy you have chosen to try out here! We pride ourselves in having fun just as much as competing. The staff we have here will not only teach you routines to compete but they will work long and hard to help you progress how you would like to" She smiled motioning to all of the staff stood at the side
"It's been 6 years since James and I opened this place and it's been nothing but bliss working here, we've won Internationals twice in a row and I promise you now we are going to get back there. We want you all to experience everything we manged to at The Next Step" She replied
"I can't wait to see what these auditions hold for us tomorrow! But for tonight? Have fun getting to know one another and you have any questions the staff, James and I will be around for a while" She smiled before getting off the stage and starting the music again "That was a nice speech babe" I said kissing her, as we pulled away I looked over my shoulder to see Beth being glared at by Ri "Did you know she was in New York?" She asked me and I frantically shook my head "I had no idea until we came inside" I answered and Riley sigh "I don't trust her" She whispered, I smiled and pressed our lips together "There isn't anything to trust, she is nothing but a bad memory to us" I smiled "I know but what if she tries something again?" Riley asked "I shouldn't have let that happen the first time and I certainly won't let it happen again this time okay?" I asked and she sighed before hugging me "I love you" Riley replied "I love you too Mrs Davis" I said making her playfully roll her eyes "I'm not Mrs just yet" She teased pressing our lips together again
