"To think they met so soon.."
...
It was a normal Wednesday school day. The boy with messy black hair, sky blue eyes with dark circles under them, wearing a navy blue jacket with a smiley faced pin on his shirt above his pocket and casual blue jeans, who's name was Helen Otis, carried his drawing book and art supply as he walked in the courtyard of his highschool, looking for an empty table that's far away from other people to draw at. It was almost the end of school, only one class left. Currently, it's free period.
On his way, he notices a boy around his age being bullied. The boy had dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, wearing a gray and blue striped jacket and casual blue jeans. He didn't look like a kid who'd done anything wrong to deserve being bullied.
Helen himself was being bullied as well. He was unsure if he should step up for the boy or leave him alone to be bullied. Stepping up for him may get him injured as well, but leaving him to be bullied is just cruel. Since he didn't know the bullies and was sure they didn't know him and what he 'did,' he thought he should step up.
"Hey!" Helen called out, "Leave him alone!"
The three bullies stopped what they were doing, before giving a final kick to their victim. "Oh? And who are you supposed to be?" One of the bullies asked, his blond hair falling to the side.
"That doesn't matter, leave him alone now!" Helen said.
"And what is a pipsqueak like you gonna do about it?" Another mocked, his brown hair mostly on his right side, which is the direction Helen was looking at. It made it look like the bully's hair was covering his eye.
Helen glanced at what he had on him, thinking quickly, 'I shouldn't really threaten them with violence, but the teachers don't really do anything about the bullying anyways.' He then responded firmly, "I'll gouge your eyes out."
The other two bullies 'oohed' and the brown haired bully said, "Bet you don't have the guts to do it."
"I don't need to gouge your eyes with my bare hands, I can just stab you all with some pencils." Helen said without thinking.
The three bullies laughed, continuing to hurt the boy. "As if some puny pencils can do damage." The female wearing all black said, "Come on guys, what's the worst that can happen?"
"You know I can make you permanently blind and I could kill you." Helen said without thinking again.
The bullies cursed at themselves, looking at each other, debating whether or not to flee or just act cool. They all seemed a little nervous.
"Awwh, cat got your tongue?" Helen said slyly and laughed, not knowing what he was doing. "You better scram before I beat you up real bad."
The bullies scoffed and ran off. The boy got up, taking a step back. Helen looked at the boy, who started twitching and ticking. He heard rumors about a boy with Tourettes called 'Ticci Toby' in the school somewhere. He didn't think this would be him.
"Hey.. You're Toby right?" Helen asked and the boy nodded, "You wanna come sit with me over there? There's no one near us, so we can just enjoy the period in peace." He continued, pointing over to a nearby table behind him.
"Er.. S-Sure.." The boy, who's name was Toby, agreed. He wasn't really sure if he could trust Helen because of his threats towards his bullies and the fact that literally no one, up until now, wanted to be around him.
