What is this familiar feeling? [XIAOTHER]

The Promise We Make Pt.2

Xiao opened his eyes to an empty bed. He slowly sat up and looked around the room. Aether was nowhere to be seen. In a panic, Xiao got up and search his room. Nothing. He went out to the living from area. It was empty. Xiao ran back into the room
and picked up his phone. He texted Aether. 'Where are you? are you okay?' Xiao looked down at his phone for a moment. He saw that Aether had read the message and began to type back. 'oh you're awake, i had to go into the shop to check on some thing's and get orders done.' Xiao sighed in relief. 'when do you think you'll be back?' Xiao was hesitant to send the message but he sent it anyway. 'maybe around this afternoon, is that alright?' 'that's fine, be safe okay?' 'okay'

'i love you'

Xiao was very hesitant to send that message. He thought that Aether would've still been mad at him and didn't want anything to do with him anymore. He was scared. He looked down at his phone again. Aether began to type.

'i love you too, make sure you eat something.'

Xiao smiled. He was so scared that Aether didn't love him anymore. But, everything is okay.
Xiao planned to get Aether something for an apology. Some of his favorite flowers and maybe he can give Aether the rings. Xiao went to the bathroom and went to take a shower. When he got out, he got a pair of clothes and went out to get the flowers.

He arrived at the store and began to look around for the flowers he wanted. "hmm." Xiao stood for a moment looking at the flowers. "What would Aether like?" he spoke to himself.
It took him a moment to choose which flowers he wanted to give to Aether. But, he eventually settled on glaze lillie's. The very flowers that he ordered when they first met.
He went to check-out and went back home. He looked at his phone. 11:40AM. Xiao rushed to the bus stop and got onto the bus. It would be a 10 minute drive to get to the house so he would have to hurry and get the flowers ready once he got back.

He was home at last. Xiao closed the door behind him, sighing in relief. He had little time to prepare everything. So, Xiao quickly went into the room to get the rings. He ran in, ran out. Aether was opening the door.

"Huh?" Aether opened the door to see Xiao. He was holding flowers. "You got me flowers..?" Xiao's face began to turn a light red. Aether smiled. "Thank you Xiao..they're lovely." Aether grabbed the flowers and put them on the counter in a vase. "So..Aether..." Aether turned around. "Hm? What is it?"
Xiao took out the rings. Aether quietly gasped. "Uhm..while you were looking for your book...I got us- promise rings.." He opened the case to reveal the most beautiful rings. Aether was in shock. He wasn't able to speak. Xiao looked down clearly upset. "..maybe i'm going too fast...i'm so-" Xiao was cut off my Aether jumping on top of him. "Oh Xiao! This is amazing!~"
"H-Huh!?" Xiao was surprised. "But..I thought that-" "You thought that I was still mad at you? Nonsense!" Aether looked up at Xiao.
"You don't have to worry about that Xiao! I would never stay mad at you!" Aether once again tightly hugged Xiao.
"..Aether, I love you" Xiao wrapped his arms around his lover.
"I love you too, Xiao!" Aether buried his face in Xiao's chest.
"Can..Can we put the rings on now.?"
"Oh Right! Sorry, I got so excited.."
Both sat up properly. Xiao took out Aether's and Aether took out Xiao's ring. Both then slowly put the rings on one another.
"Wow! They're so pretty~!" Aether stared at his ring.
"Im glad you like them.."
Xiao kisses Aether and held him tightly.
"I'm never letting you go now~.."
Aether's face began to heat up.
"I'm fine with that!~.."
And so, Xiao wasn't overthinking anymore. He was happy just to have Aether with him now, and forever
