Chapter 13: "Lost"

The next morning, Aether and Xiao's legs were a bit sore after walking around for so long.
They both decided that there's nothing a nice, steamy, hot bath couldn't fix.
"Do you want to go first, or shall I go?"
"Can't we go together?"
"Oh! you want to bathe together?"
"..it would be faster."
Aether smiled. He grabbed Xiao's hand and led him into the bathroom.
Xiao turned to the bathtub and began to run the water, making sure it was warm enough before he filled the tub up.
Aether took off his clothes and let his hair loose.
"..i forgot how long your hair is."
"huh? oh right! i guess we've been so busy it's gotten a bit longer than i wanted, heh."
"It suits you."
Xiao smiled softly. Aether became flustered and sat in the bathtub.
"well, what are you waiting for? get in!"
"ah, right."
Xiao slowly stripped his clothes off and sat in front of Aether in the tub.
"This feels nice, doesn't it?"
"..It's our first bath together."
"huh, i guess you're right!"
Aether flipped around and leaned his head onto Xiao's chest.
"it's nice it not bathe alone, isn't it?"
Xiao nodded.

After one relaxing bath, they both dressed in some comfy clothes they had.
"Okay! the plan today is to clean, and then relax!"
They began at one end of the house and to the other end.
First, their bedroom; then, the living room and kitchen; and lastly, the bathroom and guest room.

After 4 hours, the house has finally been clean.
"Ahhh, it's finally done."
Aether quickly flopped onto the couch, Xiao following.
"It's quite tiring cleaning all day."
"Haha, well we still have some time until the sun goes down!"
Aether smiled. He turned on the TV and put on their favorite movie.
He scooted closer to Xiao, leaning his head on his shoulder.
"Are you tired?"
"A little, but i'd like to stay up with you."
Xiao smiled softly. He kissed Aether's forehead and held his hand.
They both drifted off to sleep, slowly.

"You monster! How could you do such a thing!?"

"Your father should have abandoned you.."

"No one will ever love you again!!"

"You're going to die alone you freak!"

Xiao jolted his body and his eyes shot wide open. Sweat was running done his cheeks.
He looked around. The TV was still on, Aether was still by his side, asleep.
He shakily let out a sigh.
"Xiao? what's wrong?.."
"Ah, im sorry Aether. I didn't mean to wake you up."
"You didn't. I woke up myself. What's wrong?"
"..it's nothing."
"your sweaty, shaky hand says otherwise."

"..."

"..was it another nightmare?"
Aether turned to Xiao, cupping his cheek with his hand.
Xiao was still silent
"I'll go get you a cup of water."
Aether slowly rose up from the couch and began walking to the kitchen.
Xiao quickly grabbed his hand.
"please don't go."
Aether turned back to Xiao and hugged him.
"Okay, i understand."
Xiao leaned his head into Aether's shoulder, tears forming in his eyes.
"It's okay Xiao.. just let it out.."
Xiao tightly wrapped his arms around Aether and bawled his eyes out. Tears began to fall down his cheeks.
Aether patted the back on his head softly, assuring Xiao that everything was okay and to not hold back.

"Everything will be okay."
