What is this familiar feeling? [XIAOTHER]

Angst Side Story: No Longer Here With Me.

Another normal morning, another night spent with the love of his life.
He looks to his side, softly rubbing his eye. There he was, Xiao; the one he called his lover.
"Good morning Xiao! did you sleep well?"
"it was okay."
..Well that's a plain answer. Usually he says something that goes along the lines, "it was great since i was with you" or something like that.
"Is everything okay?" The blond asked in concern.
"it's fine, there's nothing to worry about."
"ah.. okay then. I'll go make breakfast then."
Quietly, Aether made his way to the kitchen, still half asleep.
"Alright, what shall I make?"
He opened the fridge and stared at it for a moment.
"Let's make waffles for today!"
He quickly grabbed all the ingredients he needed for the batter. After he mixed the batter up, he got out the waffle maker.

After about 20 minutes, he finally finished making waffles.
"Xiao! Breakfast is done!"
He shouted out for his other half, but there was no response.
Aether waited for a few extra minutes just to be sure.
"What is he going?"
He begins to walk to the bedroom door, but before he could open it, he heard his voice.
"I gotta go, he's coming into the room. Love you, bye."
Aether froze, his heart started to race. Did he just hear that, or was he imagining it? His head began to spin. Who was he talking to? Why did he say that to them? Is he cheating on him?
Aether quickly rationalized it as it being he was calling a family member. He began to steady his heart.
The blond carefully opened the door.
"Breakfast is ready. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. let's just go eat."
Xiao quickly got up formt he bed and shoved Aether out of the doorway.
'This is fine, it's okay.'
Aether thought to himself.
'as long as he's happy it's alright, right?'
He quietly walked back to the kitchen and sat down.
"..Thanks for the food."
Xiao finally spoke to break the tension between them.
Aether smiled.
"Of course!"

A few hours have passed without and troubles.
That was until Aether asked about the call.
"Why do you care so much?"
"Well- it's just that it sounded like someone i don't know of, I was just wondering who it is!"
"It's no one of your concern! Just mind your own damn business for once!"
"How could you say that!? All I want to know is who it is! We've been dating for almost 5 years now Xiao! Can you not tel me the simplest thing i'm asking?!"
"Aether, that's enough."
"No Xiao, you've been acting like a complete jerk since this morning! what is going on with you?!"
"I SAID THATS ENOUGH!"
Xiao's sudden raise in his voice had caused Aether to flinch. He's never risen his voice like that.
"..fine."
Aether began to tear up, his voice began to crack.
Quickly, he made his way to the room, slamming the door behind him, and locking it.
Xiao sighed in relief. He quickly took out his phone.
"Hey, you wanna come over tonight?"

Laying in bed, covered in blankets was the distressed Aether who had been crying for hours without stop.
He doesn't know how long it's been, or what time it even is. All he knows is that he's hungry.. and tired.

"Ah~! Xiao, yes! just like that~! Ahh~!"
Aether then suddenly heard a female voice coming from outside the bedroom door.
'Of course, as soon as he was done with me he brought someone over' Aether thought.
His hunger grew stronger and stronger. His stomach growled and began to hurt.
Aether slowly sat up, his hand on his stomach.
Slowly, he made his way to the door, the noises grew louder.
"AH~! That's right~! Right there, Xiao! right there~!!"
Aether opened the door and went straight to the kitchen.
Xiao and the girl both looked back at him, the girl trying to cover herself with a blanket that was neatly folded on the couch.
"Eh, Xiao? Who is that?"
Xiao was silent for a moment.
"He isn't important, just keep going."
Aether's heart once again began to ache. Is that what he really felt like? After all the years they spent together, is this how it ends?
"as long as he's happy.. as long as he's happy.."
Aether began to repeat those words over, and over, and over, and over again.
"He's really creepy.. are you sure i should keep going?"
"Do it."
The girl obeyed his request and kept going.
Aether silently walked back to his room with his heart aching.
He quickly ate what he got form the fridge, and fell asleep.
