Chapter 10: "Plans"

Xiao would be the first to wake up. He barely got any sleep that night.
Stayed up late looking for the perfect rings, and the perfect place.
"Ugh.."
Xiao groaned as he sat up on the bed.
He looked around the room, trying to fully wake up.
Looking beside him, he saw Aether.
His shirt had rolled up while he was asleep, revealing his chest.
He must have been uncomfortable or hot for his shirt to become like that.
Xiao immediately became flustered.
Quite a view to wake up to.
Xiao continued to stare at his bare chest. The way the sunlight reflected off.
He carefully traced his fingers on his stomach, wishing he could look at this forever.
"M-Mmm..."
Aether slowly opened his eyes.
Xiao quickly pulled his hand back, looking away embarrassed.
Aether rubbed his eye and looked up at Xiao.
"Good morning, Xiao"
He gave him a warming smile.
Xiao smiled back.
"Good morning."
Aether sat up, stretching out his arms.
"You hungry? I can make breakfast if you'd like."
"Isn't it my turn to make breakfast-?"
Aether tilted his head. Indicating he was confused.
"It is, but I want to make it."
Xiao slightly smiled.
"What would you like to eat?"
Aether's eyes lit up.
"Almond Tofu!"
Xiao was confused. He got out of bed, walking toward their closet.
"Almond Tofu? In the morning?"
"mhm! i've been wanting it for a while."
Xiao quickly got dressed into casual clothing.
He then walked back towards Aether.
"Okay, i'll call you out when its ready."
He kissed Aether's forehead then walked out their room, closing the door behind him.
Aether laid back down and grabbed his phone.

"Aether! The tofu is ready!"
Aether jumped up from the bed.
He quickly ran out the door and sat down at the island table.
"Woah, you got here fast."
"I'm just excited to eat Almond Tofu."
Xiao placed down the plate in front of Aether.
His eyes immediately lit up.
He began to eat, little by little.
"Do you like it?"
Xiao placed his arm onto the counter, resting his head in his hand. He's been watching Aether eat this entire time.
"Mhm! It tastes so good!"
Aether looked up at Xiao, smiling.
Xiao's face became flushed with a light red tint. He's always loved the way Aether smiled at him.
"Cute.."
"Hm? Did you say something?"
"..It's nothing."

"You know.. you're shirt was rolled up when I woke up."
"I-It was?!"
"Mhm."
"Did you- did you touch m-me?"
"...perhaps."
"WAHHHH!"
Aether covered his face, embarrassed.
"W-Why didn't you wake me up?!"
"You woke up after I did."
"..."
Aether became silent.
"Did you not want me touching you?" Xiao came closer to Aether.
"Thats not it.. Its just embarrassing!"
Aether uncovered his face, his cheeks completely red.
Xiao took this opportunity to kiss him.
"Hey! T-Thats not fair!"
"So you do like me touching you?"
Aether couldn't believe that Xiao could say all that with a straight face.
He was silent for a moment, then slowly nodded.
"Hmph.."
Xiao once again, came closer to Aether.
He lifted up Aether's shirt. Carefully and softly following the lines on his stomach.
"Ack-! XIAO!?!"
"You said that you liked me touching you, did you not?"
Xiao wrapped his arm around Aether, tracing his spine.
"I-I did.. But-"
They both locked eyes. Xiao was so calm about this situation, while Aether was a blushing mess.
Suddenly, Xiao pulled his hands away and stood up.
"Eh-?"
"I'm gonna wash the dishes. You can rest in the room if you'd like."
And with that, Xiao walked towards the sink.
Aether sighed and covered his face one again, still flustered.

It was late at night. Xiao was in the living room again. Searching for the perfect place.
"..Maybe I should ask him where he'd like to go."
Xiao was deep in thought. He didn't even realize Aether came out from the room.
"What are you doing up so late?"
Xiao shot his head up and looked at Aether.
It seemed like he had just woken up and was half asleep.
"Nothing.. Just looking for a place."
"You know.. I've always wanted to go to this one place out of town."
"Hm?"
Xiao was interested.
"What is it?"
"There's this big tree thats been around for thousands of years. I've seen a lot of pictured of it. Half of the tree looks like its crystallized."
Just then, Xiao suddenly began to black out.

"Xiao, I promise to love you forever. Until we're old, after death, and even in our next life. I promise that I'll be good to you and never betray you."
Small tears started to run down his cheeks. He sniffled.
Wiping his tears, Xiao began to say his vows. "Aether, you are my light, my sunshine, my life. I could never live my life without you here next to me. I promise to protect you for as long as I live and promise to love you even in our next life."
They shared a kiss, a kiss so warm that they wished this moment would never end.

"XIAO!"
Xiao quickly opened his eyes. He saw Aether, panicked.
"Xiao! Are you okay!?"
Aether cupped Xiao's face in his hands.
"What happened-?"
"We were talking and you suddenly passed out-! Oh Xiao, you had me so worried!!"
Aether tightly held Xiao.
He had small tears running down his cheeks.
"..Lets go to bed."
"Okay.."
Xiao picked up Aether and went to the room.
He carefully placed Aether onto the bed, covering him with blankets.
Aether had fallen asleep already. His eyes were slightly puffy and red. It must be from the crying.
Xiao softly kissed his forehead and laid next to him.
"Have I married you before? Is it true that I was with you in a past life?"
Xiao quietly talked to himself.
He slowly closed his eyes, and fell asleep.
