Chapter 11: "Proposal"

Today was the day.
Xiao kept thinking that. Over, and over, and over again.
"Today is the day..." he said quietly.
"Hm? Did you say something?"
Xiao looked up. Aether was always there, next to him.
"..You're beautiful."
Xiao didn't even realize he said that out loud.
Aether's face became pink.
"Y-You think so?"
Xiao immediately nodded.
"You've always been so beautiful." He then took this opportunity to kiss Aether's cheek.
"AHHH XIAO!!"
Aether covered his face, he was completely red.
Xiao let out a small chuckle. He loved teasing Aether.
"I love you."
Xiao softly grabbed Aether's wrists, making him show his face.
"..I love you too."
Aether was way to embarrassed still to be saying such words. Even though they've said it many, many times.

"I'm gonna head out."
"Huh? Where are you going?"
Aether looked at Xiao in confusion.
"I uhm.. need to pick something up."
"Like what-?"
Xiao was quiet. He needed to think of an excuse.
"..It's a surprise-!"
"Oh! I love surprises!"
Aether smiled.
He ran towards Xiao and gave him a hug.
"Text me when you get there. I don't want anything happening to you."
Xiao quietly chuckled.
"I will."
And with that, he gave a small kiss on Aether's forehead, and went on his way.

Xiao got onto the bus. It seemed like it wasn't that busy.
"Good afternoon, Xiao."
The driver greeted Xiao as normally. He's been riding this bus for so long, the driver pretty much knows him.
Xiao nodded back at the driver, indicating a greet.
He sat down and looked out the window.
It always felt a bit different riding the bus without Aether.
"May I sit here?"
Xiao snapped out of his thinking. He looked beside him.
A girl. She had dark maroon-ish hair. She was wearing dark clothes and had a cute hat on.
"..Isn't there plenty seats around?"
"Yes, but i'd like to sit here."
She smiled.
Xiao didn't want to deal with this right now. He hated other people sitting with him, besides Aether, of course.
"..fine."
Xiao finally gave in.
"Great!"
She immediately sat down, softly bumping into Xiao.
"Ugh.." Xiao let out a quiet groan.
"My name's Hu Tao! What's yours?"
Seriously? Now she's talking. Xiao was already done with this girl.
"It's.. Xiao."
"Xiao? What a.. cute name!"
Xiao rolled his eyes and looked back out the window.
"Here, my business card!"
Xiao turned back. He saw a white card in front of him. It has her name and a phone number on it.
"You work at the funeral parlor?"
"Yes sir! I'm actually the boss there."
Oh.. that's interesting. How could a girl like her be the boss of a funeral parlor?
"That's.. cool."
Xiao thought that would be the end of the conversation.
"Do you have anyone you'd like to talk to that's dead?!"
Hu Tao came closer to Xiao's face, causing him to back away.
"Uhm.. no?"
Xiao was severely uncomfortable now. He just wanted to leave.
"Oh. Okay then!"
The bus came to a sudden stop.
"Mr. Xiao. Here's your stop."
Already? He didn't even realize they arrived.
Xiao immediately got up and exited the bus. He let out a big sigh of relief.
"Finally.. some peace and quiet."

"Thank you for your purchase! Please come again!"
Xiao had just left the jewelry store. He had picked up the rings.
"I hope he likes them.."
He grabbed his phone to call Aether.
"Hello?"
"Aether, do you remember that place you were telling me about?"
"Mhm! what about it?"
"I need you to meet me there.. right now."
"huh? why?"
"Please, just meet me there."
"..Okay. I'll get ready."
"Thank you. See you in a bit."

"Hmm.. where is he?"
Aether had just arrived. He started to look around for Xiao but, he couldn't find him.
"He must be at the tree already."
Aether started walking towards the viewing sight.
It looks more empty than i expected..
Aether started thinking to himself. Did he hear Xiao wrong on the phone?
He arrived at the tree. It looks so much better in real life than the picture.
"Wow.."
Aether was mesmerized by the sight. The glowing, blue crystallized part of the tree. It was so beautiful.
He looked around for Xiao. He couldn't see him.
But it was strange. The visitors that were there with him were just starting. As if something was about to happen.
Aether looked around once more. He caught a glimpse of Xiao.
"Ah, Xiao! There you are!"
"Aether.. I know it hasn't been long since we've started dating.. But, all those memories i've had with you, are very special to me. I could never forget them. You're so special to me.. And I can't think love without you. So.. Will you marry me..?"
Xiao got done into one knee. He pulled out a small case and slowly opened it. Inside, was a beautiful ring. The ring band had the words, "My Sun," engraved into it.
Aether teared up. He couldn't believe it. He was so overwhelmed with joy, he fell to his knees.
"Yes! Of course! I'll marry you!"
Aether jumped into Xiao's arms, tightly holding him.
Everyone around then started cheering.
Aether couldn't let go. He was so happy.
"I'm glad, I was worried that you wouldn't like the ring."
"Are you kidding!? The ring is beautiful!"
Xiao wrapped his arms around Aether. He felt so calm, like this is where he belonged.
"Here, let's get up now. We have to get home."
Aether sniffled as he wiped his tears away.
"Right. We can take the car back."
Xiao got up, then proceeded to help Aether get up.
They held hands, walking out of the building.

Once they got home, Xiao immediately grabbed Aether and pulled him into a kiss. A long kiss at that.
"Xiao.. What are you doing?"
"I don't want to let you go."
Xiao deepened the kiss, making Aether unable to move.
He gently placed him onto the couch.
"Xiao.. We can't do this here..!"
"Why not? It's our home."
"I know b-but still..!"
Xiao once again kissed him. Making him unable to talk.
He slid his hand up in Aether's shirt. Softly tracing his stomach. Aether let out soft moans.
"I love the sounds you make."
Aether looked away from him. His face red.
Xiao then began to tease him. Slowly circling around his nipple.
"Xiao stop..!"
"Why? I know you like this."
Aether let out more louder moans. Xiao had his knee pressed against Aether's bulge. Slowly moving his knee up and down, making sure to not go too fast.
"..Let's go to the bedroom."
Xiao carried Aether into their bedroom, closing the door behind them.
