YOUR POV
In addition to unpacking my luggage, I also changed into comfortable clothing as if they're my sleeping wear. I hurried to the playground, whereas Jeong-woo stood byand waiting.
Being alone with Jeong-woo fills the whole me with excitement.
I'm going to follow my gut instincts this time.
My feelings must be expressed before it is too late, even though I know what his response going to be.
My excitement grew higher as I contemplated canoeing with Jeong-woo. I waved my arm enthusiastically at him, but he didn't react, which was unusual of him.
He was on the phone with someone.
I was unfazed by it at all.
What makes him look so serious?
Could it be that his work is causing him to act like that?
I heard one word as soon when I arrived at his side. There were breezes blowing so I was unable to hear everything.
Her? Who is he talking about?
After he finished talking on his phone, I said, "Let's go!"
However, I was not expecting such a response from him. He seems so confused. Jeong-woo brushed it off and said, "Ladies first? I'll follow along."
"What's wrong with you? You're making me uncomfortable when you're like that."
Laughing softly, Jeong-woo said, "It's a good experiment since I will debut soon and socialize with the fans. It will be a good practice."
"Well, I'm not a fan, so don't do that. You and I are friends, right?"
It didn't occur to me that he was sad after hearing that.
My balance went out of control when I try to get onto the boat, causing me to wobble, and Jeong-woo instantly caught my hand and grip it tight, and made my heart race.
"What are you, a kid? You're too excited. Be careful~"
"I've always been a kid at heart!"
He grinned as he shook his head, "Okay, get on it safely. You don't want me to fall either."
My heart was racing even faster as he tightened my hand again and did not let go.
Get a hold of yourself, y/n!
"Are you ready?"
I nodded quickly, "Y-Yeah!"
In disbelief, he asked, "What? Are you afraid? Why are you stuttering?"
"Oh no, I'm not nervous. It's just that you're still holding my hand..."
As he looked at our intertwined hands, he suddenly release them.
"It wasn't intentional. I was just being cautious in a protective way."
Though I did not show it on my face, I was disappointed with his comments. Then I chuckled softly, "I understand~ thank you."
With a tender smile, Jeong-woo paddled around the shoreline not far from our place. The sound of nature made us both feel relaxed. The scenery is so stunning that neither of us can stop looking at it.
When I looked to the side, Jeong-woo looked so sentimental and his side profile made my fall in love again.
With a guy like him, I knew I would never stop falling in love. It would be impossible to replace him in my heart. I fumbled for words to express what I felt.
The problem, however, is that he is soon to become a celebrity.
"Jeong-woo...."
As he continue to paddle, Jeong-woo slowly face me and waits for my response.
"There is something I want to confess."
He raises his eyebrows, urging me to keep going. A doubt made it impossible for me to say anything.
What will his responses be?
"What is wrong? Why aren't you saying anything? Don't leave me hanging."
"...I like you."
When I finally confessed my feelings, I knew that I would not get the same response. Nevertheless, I felt warm-hearted when Jeong-woo finally knew how I felt. In this case, I do not regret anything.
The paddling stopped when Jeong-woo was speechless. As little as I knew, he was about to return my feelings in a positive way.
To protect my pride, I decided to give up on him so that I wouldn't get hurt.
"You don't have to apologize, I know there's no chance you'll like me. I just want to let you know my feelings, that's all. You can just treat it as if it was a fan telling how much I like you as an artist."
Jeong-woo, however, did not want that.
I was unaware of his pain.
Putting on a fake smile, he said, "That's great. I didn't want to hurt you, so I'm glad you understand my situation."
"We could become best friends instead!"
"Yeah, that's even better. I'd rather keep you safe from my obsessive fans."
"Heol, you're already on that? You haven't made your debut yet."
"I can tell you we may already have stalkers since the survival show."
"That is true, it is really scary. You need to be careful."
Having said that, he shook his head, "You shouldn't be the one telling me that."
"You probably don't know that I can fight, do you?"
Laughing in disbelief, Jeong-woo enlarges his eyes as he asks, "You really surprise me in many ways. I didn't know you could fight."
"Now that you know, you have nothing to worry about. Thank you for always looking out for me, the same thing for Haruto."
"What do you think of Haruto?"
"What's with that sudden question?"
"I'm curious, that's all. Can't I ask about him?"
"No, that's not what I mean. I think he's a cool guy? He's very open-minded, good-looking, and has a kind heart."
But nothing makes my heart flutter like you...
"You must really like him to give so many compliments."
"Yah, he's just a really good friend of mine so there's nothing wrong with that. Also, what do you think of me?"
He then shrugged off his shoulders and continued paddling, causing me to scoff at him in disbelief, "Yah! You're so unfair!"
Jeong-woo laughed out loud, and gave me such a beautiful smile again, "I'm sorry~ I won't tell you until I figure you out."
I furrow my eyebrows, "I don't understand but, you do you then."
"Y/N! Jeong-woo ah!"
Our eyes both turned to where the voices were coming from, and it was our sister/brother.
"We're getting ready for dinner, so hurry and come back safely."
We both yelled, "Yeah!! We will!"
My excitement at having a family dinner with Jeongwoo's family couldn't be contained. It didn't occur to me that he was watching me tenderly and regretting not answering my confession right away.
