JEONGWOO POV

"You're making it hard for me to not fall for you."

"What..."

"Y/N, this may be difficult to you, but I'm starting to fall in love with you."

I'm sorry, Haruto. I can't lose her to you.

However, an unexpected response from her broke my heart. I never thought she'll reject me this way. What made her have a change of heart?

"No...you can't..."

I felt betrayed. I always thought that she will return the same feelings as mine.

"W-Why can't I like you? Don't you like me?"

"I do. I do like you, Jeongwoo... But this won't work out at all."

"Why wouldn't they work out? Do you like Haruto?"

"Why are you bringing Haruto into this?"

He likes you too.

"I don't understand. The first time I met you has left me a deep impression. I fell in love with you at first sight. Now, it seems you're running away?"

Why is she running away now?

She stutters her words, "Y-You... I-I can't be in a relationship with an idol."

Little did she notice, I was hurt badly. I never once thought that it will be hard for us. I never cared about the consequences. I saw myself to be in a healthy and happy relationship with y/n. However, she thought otherwise.

"I guess I misjudge you? You're going to turn a blind eye to your true feelings just because I'm going to become an idol? You think I'll get hurt because of your past?"

"Jeongwoo, think about the consequences you will get when this get out of hand. I don't want us to get hurt."

"Too bad, I'm opposite. I only thought that we will get through this together no matter what comes to our ways. However, you don't think the same."

She tried to give an explanation to my argument, but nothing will come out of her mouth. An interruption was made, causing her to flinch surprisingly.

It was noises made by high school students who are on their ways to go home. I can see her grit her teeth, and gave me a weak smile, "I'm sorry, Jeongwoo. Let's just stay friends."

"I don't think we can even stay friends."

There's no way I can stay friends with her.

She's all mine, I can't have anyone take her before me.

We both will regret this.

I walked away from her slowly and disappear from her sight. I didn't know that she was holding back her tears. When we were about to leave, I saw her puffed eyes, and felt saddened to see those swollen eyes.

I kept avoiding her eye contacts because I feel awkward.

Will everything turn okay between us?

I really hope so.

- A month later -

Everything has changed in us. Y/N is back to her normal life whereas I continue to be a busy idol preparing for our debut. I have never thought I'll be this desperate to see Y/N after such a long time. It was me who ended our friendship anyway.

Haruto then smacked my back, causing me to groan in pain, "AHH!!"

He laughed cheerfully, "What's wrong with you? You haven't been yourself lately."

Haruto ah.

"N-Nothing, I've been stressing about our debut."

"Don't lie. You're thinking about someone else, right? Is it someone I know?"

I gulped nervously, "Yeah."

"Is it Y/N?"

I widened my eyes and turned around hastily, "No!"

However, Haruto's eyes have changed. He doesn't look angry. Since then, I really felt at ease. I couldn't find a word to say anything.

"I'm sorry, Jeongwoo ah. I think it was because of me, that you have to think over your feelings towards her. I'm the one who's getting in your way."

"No, hyung! You laid your eyes on her first so I'm at fault here. I'm sorry, I couldn't get rid my feelings for her."

"No, it's okay. I've decided to let go my feelings for her. I'd rather stay as friends with her than lose her by my side. However, she looks sad these days."

"Is that why you're here?"

"I want to be able to help you both so that you and y/n can be happy like before. What's exactly happened?"

I explained everything to him from the beginning whilst Haruto kept silent throughout my story. However, he doesn't look surprised.

"Isn't it too early for you to make a confession?"

"Why? Is it that wrong of me?"

"I can't say that you did right or wrong, but Jeongwoo, you should think outside of a box. When your fans find out about any of this, how do you think they will feel towards you or Y/N?"

"Hurt? Sad? But why would they feel that way? It's not like I am made of robot with no feelings. I am human before idols so my feelings are valid. Am I wrong?"

"Of course not, but you wouldn't want to lose fans. Sure, there will be fans out there still be supporting you, but you're not the only one achieving your dream. Have you forgotten about us?"

"So what are you trying to say?"

"Wait until you are mature enough to manage everything on your own. Once we have the freedom to be in a relationship, then you can go back to her side. I'm sure that is why she rejected you, and also you should understand her perspective because she's doing it to protect you, which explains why she didn't say anything much about your mother."

I clenched my teeth, thinking that I was selfish and did not properly understand Y/N's feelings better like Haruto.

It would've been better if she's gone out with Haruto instead.

Haruto ruffles my hair roughly with a grin on his face, "Don't worry too much, and focus on treasure. I believe that is what Y/N would want us to do since she wants to see all of us debut soon."

"This is going to be difficult for me."

"Love is very complicated. We're only 18 years old so we still have long ways to go."

"That's true. Thank you, hyung."

I will work hard to become an idol.

I will prove myself that I can be more than an idol to her.

I have to become stronger so that y/n wouldn't have to feel like that.
