THIRD POV

Everything became tense and awkward. When y/n left the two behind, everyone was confused with her sudden solemn look when she returns. CEO Sean furrows his eyebrows, "Are you not feeling well?"

"Ye-No, I'm fine!"

Jeongwoo and his mother came back afterwards, causing her to flinch surprisingly.

He couldn't stop looking at her worriedly.

However, his mother did not regret her actions. It was all for Jeongwoo's sake. She wants what is best for his future. She did it to protect her precious son at all costs.

Sukhee noticed it right away that something had happened inside.

"It seems y/n is tired from today so I suppose I take her back with me inside to rest. Is that okay, dad?"

He nods his head, "Sure, why not? Those who want to rest can go back to their rooms and I'll take care of this messy stuff."

Jeongwoo's father also decided to lend him a hand.

Hyeonwoo elbowed Jeongwoo, giving him hints to spend some time alone with him, while his mother decided to go back to her room to refresh her mind after seeing y/n's shocking face.

"Did something happen when y/n went to check up on you and mom?"

"Yeah."

"What is it?"

"Y/N might have heard our conversations."

"What were you two talking about?"

"Mom talked about how her parents were like in the past, and that no one wants their existence. She doesn't want me to be around her because there will hates thrown at me especially when I'm bound to debut soon."

"I did not know mom could give such judgments."

"Even at worst timing, she heard mom saying she doesn't like her. What do I do? I cannot forget how badly hurt she was feeling. I really wished for her not to come."

"Then what did you say to mom? She looks hurt too."

"That...I was angry at that moment so I said I wouldn't forgive anyone who tries to hurt her."

He gasped shockingly, and smacked my arm, making me groan in pain, "Ouch! That's hurt."

"Not as much as you did to mom! Why did you say that? Have you lost your mind?"

"I know I shouldn't have said that, but I was really out of mind because of y/n. I regretted it so I can't fully face mom right now. I want to be alone for a while."

Hyeonwoo sighs harshly and pats my head, "Don't take too long sitting here, you'll get cold. I'll take care of mom so don't worry. Freshen your mind and come back to your senses. Seeing you like that doesn't look good on you."

"Thank you, hyung."

- Y/N and Sukhee -

As soon as Sukhee closes the door behind them, y/n slowly tears up and could not forget what she heard from their conversation earlier.

Sukhee heard her sniffing and turned her around to see her sobbing quietly.

"Yah, why are you crying? Did something happen?"

She shook her head in disagreement, "No~ nothing happened."

"Then who made you cry? Tell me."

"Seriously, nothing really happened."

"Don't lie to me! Tell me before I really say something to Jeongwoo or his mom."

Y/N gathered up some courage to talk about it, "His mother doesn't like me because of our parents' past. She doesn't want me to be around Jeongwoo because I will ruin his dreams. Why does everyone hate us, unnie?"

"Wah, this is unbelievable. I thought she was kind like Jeongwoo, but this is unforgivable."

"Don't hate her though. It's reasonable for her to act like that since she's trying to protect Jeongwoo from those who dislike us because of our biological parents."

"Does that make any sense? Why can't I do that? She hates us so what's the point of forgiving such a person?"

"She's definitely doing what's best for Jeongwoo since he's about to debut soon, don't you understand? It's her way of showing her love towards him as a mother."

"That doesn't mean she has the right to use you as an argument. What does our parents' past have to do with us now? Why does everyone think we're like them? This is annoying!"

Y/N gulped nervously at her annoyed tone, making her pull down beside her and hug Sukhee, "Unnie, tone it down. This is not going to bring me down, so don't you worry, okay?"

"As if! You were sobbing crazy like a baby, and you say that now?"

Y/N laughed happily and felt safe around her. Sukhee is the only one who knows how to comfort her. Little did they see it coming, CEO Sean heard everything alongside Jeongwoo's father.

- CEO Sean and Jeongwoo's father -

Mr. Park couldn't get to say anything in the kitchen. Sean keeps washing the dishes while he watches from behind.

Why did she have to bring those up?

Just what in the world did she say in front of y/n?

"Do you guys still hate their parents?"

Upon returning to reality, Mr. Park gulped nervously, not sure what to say.

"Will you believe a secret I tell you?"

Then with a harsh sigh, he gave in since he felt bad for the girls who still receive hate these days, "What is it that you want to tell me?"

I had a wife who was carrying twins and they were going to be my daughters. She suffered a car accident, which caused her to bleed heavily, and the water broke in the car."

The story caught Mr. Park off guard, and he wondered how it related to their parents.

"They caused the accident. I will not assume they killed my wife because of it, but they tried to save her. They brought her to the hospital immediately, knowing her condition."

"But in the end, they could not save her."

"Do you know why I adopted them? After losing my wife and our babies, I felt worse for them. They lost people who loved them dearly on the way to save them when they were at their worst. Their ribs were broken, and they lost blood badly. However, that didn't stop them even though it was also a Children's Day."

Mr. Park, once again, became speechless.

"The police investigate everything that happened in the car accident. I saw all the things they were going to bring to their daughters: flowers, gifts, and a picture of them together in their wallets."

"Even though they have done wrongful acts, it doesn't mean they have lost the sense of being human and parents. It hurts me a lot to see my daughters be treated as outsiders to this world, not knowing how their parents still care about people. If they didn't care about people, then why have they tried to save my wife? That's why I won't forgive anyone who hurts my daughters."

"I can see why you are being so overprotective. You are truly the best father figure for them. I apologize on my wife's behalf if she hurt your daughter."

As a result of hearing CEO Sean's story, Mr. Park has changed his prejudices against his daughters and their parents. Having learned that they weren't as bad as he thought they would be, he felt at ease.
