My eyes opene and I take a deep breath. I look around and see my doctor talking to a series of people, which happened to be my loved ones.

My mom. She is staring straight past the gray haired doctor, not even listening to what he is saying. Her hair is messed up, as if she had woken up and come to the hospital. She probably did.

Next was Sammy. He is watching the doctor, and hanging on to every word he says. His hair looks as if he has run his hands through it a thousand times. He probably has.

And Nate. He has his head in his hands. I can see the tears leaking out of his eyes and onto the floor. His hair is also pretty messy.

Suddenly, my mom is staring at me. At my eyes. Her mouth gapes open and she points.

I can't hear anything, but everyone is staring at me. They all rush over, trying to not crowd around. The doctor hovers over me and is speaking but I can't hear him.

Then my head starts hurting. Not just hurting, but pounding. Like someone is pounding a hammer against the inside of my head. I grab my head and feel myself scream. I can't see anything. At all.

And then I feel nothing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I moan and turn over on my side. There is still a dull pounding on my head, but it doesn't hurt as bad.
I open my eyes and look around, but the room is vacated. But I hear something. I hear the beeping, the beeping that tells people that their loved one is still hanging on.
The door opens and a nurse walked in, followed by Sammy.
"Sammi!" He calls, running to my bedside and kneeling down. "Oh my god, I was so worried."
"I'm okay," I sigh and he grabs my hand. "I think."
"Ms. Court, are you okay here with him while I get the doctor?" The nurse asks. She has red hair.
(A/N I don't even know if I've ever said Sammi's last name, if I have I dont remember)
I nod and smile, then turn back to Sam.
"Sammy, what happened?" I ask, confused.
"You don't remember anything?" He asks, disappointed.
"Bits and pieces," I shrug, "I remember waking up last night and you and mom were next to me. I remember hurting. I remember getting here. I remember seeing you and mom and Nate sitting in those chairs over there. I remember passing out." I explain.
Sam nods and the doctor comes in. "I'll let him explain."
"Alright, Sammi, you've had a rough day." He sighs but smiles.
"Ugh, I know," I roll my eyes. "I have a question. I heard you say "the baby is gone." That's been tearing at me. Is it true?"
"No, it is not true." The doctor smiles and my face lights up. "But, it was very close. Something like this again would most likely kill the fetus."
I nod and Sammy gives me a thumbs up.
"But you also have not come out of this unscathed. The baby has been very affected, and might cause birth defections."
"What does that mean?"
"Sammi, it means you went into an early labor last night. Much too early. 30 weeks early, to be exact." The doctor opens up. "We were able to stop it, but the chance is still high of a premature birth. My guess is the birth will be eight to nine weeks early."
"Will my baby still be okay if he or she is born that early?" I ask anxiously. "That's two months early!"
"We won't know until we get closer to the date." He says. "There might be very minor things, maybe no hair. But he or she will be fine." He smiles yet again. Man, he smiles a lot. "What was your original due date?"
