I had made my decision. This was it. I was going, and never coming back. I didn't make things easier around here, I just made them a whole lot harder. There was no need for me here.

I, of course, am not going to kil myself. My mother wouldn't be able to handle another death. She would posotively die, I believe.

I was going to run away. Not into the woods or anything, like a little kid, but to somewhere far away. I had a friend that lives in Los Angeles. Her name is Mahogany, Mahogany Gordy. (You all should know who I'm talking about ;) She had gone to our school, and she was like two years older than me. She goes to college in LA, and I called her and she agreed to let me stay with her so I can get some time away from my life.

I was taking my dad's old car to get there. He had wrecked my mom's old car, so his car was fine. My mom had never had the heart to drive it, so she kept it next to our garage, where she didn't have to look at it. I found the keys in a box in my mom's room and was about to go get it.

I had all of my stuff packed into two suitcases. One for clothes, one for personal items, like money, makeup, chargers, and other stuff I didn't want to leave behind. I had also packed some food and beverages in a backpack. But then, I remembered, I couldn't leave without saying goodbye.

I got out a notebook, and tore out five pieces of paper. And I started writing. And writing. I could have written a whole book, but I stopped myself just short of a short story. One to my mom, one to Josh, one to Jack and Jack, one to Nash, one to Nate, and one to Sammy.

I laid the notes carefully spread out on my desk. Then, I carefully made my way into my mom's room. I bent over her head and whispered in her ear, "I'm going out. I'll be back soon." she gave me a little nod and I kissed her forehead. "I love ya," I say, but I think she has fallen back asleep. "Good bye," I whisper as I shut the door to her bedroom.

I grab my stuff and hurry down the stairs and outside, and unlocked the parked black SUV waiting next to the garage. I carefully manuevered it threw the grass and back on the driveway.

I was about to get off the exit to "Los Angeles" before my mom realized "later" really meant "later."

Friday, December 26th. 10:00. Sammy's point of view.

"Hi, Mrs. Wilkinson, is Sammy home?" I heard a voice say from the front door. I poked my head from the kitchen and saw a nervous Sammi's mom standing in the doorway.

"Yes, Melissa, he is." My mom replied warmly. "Sammy!" she called for me.

"Hey, Sammi's mom!" I greeted as I stood next to my mom.

"Hello, Sammy. You haven't seen Sammi, have you?" she asked.

"Nope, haven't seen her all day. Is something wrong?" I replied, a smile fading from my face.

"She, uh, told me she was going out at about seven o'clock in the morning. I haven't seen her since." She looked on the verge of tears. "She, uh, left you a note. She left me one, too, along with her friends." she handed me a note, taped shut, with "Sammy" written on the front. I carefully opened it. Her neat and swirly handwriting was crammed onto every park of the paper.

Dear Sammy,

By the time you've read this, I'm probably long gone. I didn't kill myself. I just needed to get away. To clear my mind, and everything. There's no need to worry, I'm staying with a friend somewhere far away. I'm fine.

I'm sorry for leaving so suddenly, it was a last minute decision that I needed to make. And since I couldn't say good bye, this is it. Good bye, Sammy. Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for all the laughs and all the memories, all the bad decisions and all the heart break. You don't need me in your life. Go out and find a girl that will love you, no matter what, and won't fall into comas and forget everything about you. Your an amazing guy. Any girl would be lucky to have you, just not your stupid, clumsy, moody next door neighbor. That girl isn't what you need. And even though she really wants you, she doesn't deserve you. She's too selfish. But that girl loves you, no matter what happens. Remember that.
I love you, and goodbye.
~Sammi♥

Tears filled my eyes by the time I was finished.

"You mean she's gone?" I whispered. Sammi's mother sighed and nodded.

'She took her father's car and all of her stuff." She put her head in her hands and my mom tried to comfort her.

"Calm down, let's call the police, we'll find her." My mother said gently, leading her to a couch.

"Don't worry, Melissa," I say, heading uo the stairs to my room. "I will find her."
