*Sammi's point of view
"Kenny!" I said and threw my arms around my friend. He hugged my back, being careful of where I was bruised. We sat down on my bed and played a game of cards. The doctors wouldn't let me leave my room because they thought I was still a little crazy, even though it had been three days since I had woken up. I mean, I still probably am a little loopy, I feel like my life just restarted. And it gives me headaches, meeting all these new people that are really old friends. So they give me Kenny and a stack of cards to try to get my brain to stimulate and remember things I guess. Really all it does is give me headaches trying to remember how to play Go Fish.
"Alright, Sammi, we'll keep you one more night and then you're going back home!" The smiling doctor said. "Kenny, you have been released, but you can stay with her until she goes home." Then he left, and Kenny continued talking to me about random things I didn't understand.
"Sammi? Did you here that, baby, you're going home!" Sammy burst into the room and gave me a huge hug, not thinking very well of my bruised ribs and back.
"Please get off," I said, sighing and looking back at Kenny.
Things just didn't feel right with Sammy. I felt worried and constantly looking around with him. But with Kenny, I felt safe. He takes care of me pretty well, and he understands me.
"Okay," Sammy said, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Well, uh, I'll be waiting for you back home." He grabbed his crutches and hobbled into the hallway, his head hung low.
I shook my head and turned back to where Kenny was explaining Go Fish. I got tired and fell asleep.
-----
"Sammi! Get up!" My mom said, shaking me awake. She had come a couple days ago. Today was the day I go home. I wasn't used to waking up so early, because at the hospital I was sleeping for like three days but I could sometimes hear what they were saying.
"Come on, Sammi," my mom whined, and I rolled my eyes but sat up. I let her dress me in a sweatshirt and sweat pants, and the doctors were looking me over one last time before setting out the rules for home.
"No exercise, maybe a little walking here and there, but don't run a marathon. Stretch your bones, it will help with the bruising. Get plenty of sleep. Don't bend over too much. Just relax a bit," The doctor said, and I nodded. "And, Mom, help her. Bring her food, don't make her run up and down the stairs all the time." My mom nodded and thanked the doctor, and then she signed me out and I was free to go home.
I had 6 hours of driving ahead of me.
Well, I didn't drive, but I wasn't used to the movement and threw up like four times. But finally, we made it home. I went up to my mom and saw Sammy had taped up a "Welcome Home!" sign to his window. I rolled my eyes and ignored his tapping on the window. But he wouldn't stop.
"What?" I growled, opening the window. Then I got a sudden pounding in my head and grabbed my face. "Oh god," I said. I think this is a memory.
"Sammi. Sammiiiii. Come on, Sammiiiiiiiiii!"
"What?"
"Hi."
Then, just like that, it was over. I looked around, and I was laying on the ground, clutching my head.
"Sammi? What the hell?" Sammy was hovering above me, and I had to shake my head to get back into reality.
"What happened?" I asked as I sat on my bed, and Sammy sits next to me.
"Well, you opened the window and said "What" then you grabbed your head like something hurt. Then you screamed and fell over," Sammy explained.
"I-i had a memory," I responded, looking at the floor.
"What happened?"
"It was like you were bugging me." I looked up at the door to see Kenny coming in.
"Kenny!" I exclaimed, jumping from my place on the bed. I hugged him really tight and I felt him smile into my hair. He smelled really good.
"Hey, Sammi" Kenny says when I pull away.
"Sammi, I need to know who you choose," Sammy said from the bed.
I looked between the two of them.
I already knew who to choose.
I just had to say it.
"She chooses me," Kenny answered for me, and I was about to nod when I saw a look of rage on Sammy's face.
"What? Kenny, you have a girlfriend. Andrea," Sammy said, looking at me. Well, more like glaring at me.
"I broke up with Andrea because I felt nothing for her. I like Sammi."
"I choose Kenny. Sammy, I'm sorry. Please leave." I looked at him firmly, and he shook his head.
"I don't know what I did, but I put my whole life on hold for you, Sammi. You. I quit that bad boy act for you. And this is how you repay me." Sammy looks at the ground. "I should have known. Everyone leaves me." And then he left.
------
-Sammy's point of view-
"Hey? Andrea? What hotel are you staying at?" I said into the phone. She replies, and I get in the cab and go to the hotel she told me. I go to her room.
"Hey," she says, giving me a small smile. I frown and give her a small hug. She looks up at me, and I lean down to kiss her.
Then, I do something to get Sammi off of my mind. It felt wrong, but I did it anyways.
......
I get up to put my clothes on.
"Bye, Sam," Andrea said, and I nod before leaving.
