"It's okay, Julie.", he told me.
I nodded, but I couldn't stop myself from crying.
"Hey. Hey.", he whispered, "Did you see Daryls reaction when you did that? He dropped his food on the floor, and his eyes were, like, really wide. I had to hold back my laughter. And Patricia...she looked so dumb. That bitch deserved it. Remember her face?", he told me.
I giggled and nodded.
"Yeah? Have a pic, bet you could share it with the whole school. Thats the least you could do with that picture.", he laughed.
I joined him, and soon we were laughing and I had forgotten my crying.
"T-thanks Daniel.", I whispered and hugged him.
He had been with me from start to finish and I ignored my feelings for him. He had opened up to me in ways he probably had never done to anyone else. I felt bad for what I had done, but there wasn't anything that I could do now.
He broke free of the hug and helped me up, and the only thing he could do was talk about the lunch incident and we would laugh hysterically down the hallway.
It was 14:12, meaning we would be 12 minutes late, and maybe slightly longer, to lesson. So, we picked up our pace.~
"...and remember that you have homework due for next week, if it is not done, what do you get?!", the teacher shouted, expectantly, as we packed up, "Ugh, a detention! Now, go. Leave my class. Go home.", he shooed us. He didn't have to tell us twice because me and Julie were already walking down the hallway to go home.
"Wanna...come over later? To do the homework, I mean.", I laughed, nervously.
"Sure.", she nodded.
We continued to talk about other things but then I bumped into something, like a brick wall. But, it wasn't a brick wall, no this was Daryl.
"Hey, man.", I said, and rubbed my forehead.
"Hi.", Daryl spoke, and grabbed me by the shoulder and placed it around me.
This felt unnatural because we only did this when we were friends, but not anymore.
"Hey, baby.", he kissed Julie's forehead but she tried to doge it, sneakily by dropping her book on the floor.
"What's up?" She asked him.
"Oh, we just wanted to invite you...to a party,", She gave a quick glance to Daniel, "It's on Friday, so you have time to do what you want, but it not like the Prom, so don't come in with big fancy dresses, just something casual. Can you come?", he rambled.
"We can't. Isn't it illegal for 17 year olds to party?", she asked.
"Oh, no worries. My cousin owns the place, he's allowed us.", Daryl spoke.
"Nah, I've got this thing.", I tried.
"Come on, man. Just for tonight, then you can go back to whatever you do.", he pouted.
"Ok, sure I'll come, but will Julie?", I asked.
"That's if she wants to.", Jake said out of nowhere.
I watched as she bit her lip, nervously, contemplating if she should go or not.
I nodded, reluctantly and Daryl, Jake and Mike all cheered.
"Great."
"But, you're gonna have to pick me up the way you used to sneak into my room. My mums not letting me go out because of the Patricia thingy.", she explained.
"Sure, no problem.", Daryl said.
He tried to kiss her but I manged to distract him by pulling him away.
"Let's go, home.", I said and let go of Daryl.
Julie was still standing inside the school, and she was staring at someone across the parking lot. I followed her eyes and they were on Patricia. I looked back at her and she was extremely angry. It was a look I hadn't ever seen on her, so it scared me a little. It was as if she wanted to kill her, that's what the expression looked like.
I ran back inside and grabbed her by the arm, that seemed to take her out of her sick daydreaming.
"Julie, is everything okay?", I asked, looking at Patricia for a second and looking back at her.
"Yeah, everything's fine.", she said sarcastically. Her tone was bitter and angry, her eyes narrowed at me, and she folded her arms.
"Come on.", I tried but then when Julie wasn't moving, I could tell there was something wrong because she couldn't take her eyes off Patricia.
It was Daryl, and he was walking to her, checking around to see if Julie was there. I tensed up, her anger spreading onto me. I wanted to kill him, at that moment, like the way I had done to Chris. Who the fuck did he think he was, cheating on Julie?
"Daniels a bastard, I don't know why he's hanging out with her, and I don't know why she's even hanging out with him.", Daryls laughed, as he grabbed Patricia closer to him.
We both watched, anger boiling inside if us, as Daryl whispered something in her ears and she grew excited. Jake and Mike were already on their way home, so not even they knew about this.
I grabbed Julie's hand and dragged her across the parking lot.
"Don't look at them.", was the only thing I told her.
"Laugh.", she said, through gritted teeth.
And I did. I broke into a fake laughter, and Julie went from there. She groaned, slightly upset and screamed at me.
"Stop, it's not funny. Don't laugh.", she giggled as real as she could.
Once we got to our cars, we hugged each other goodbye.
Our anger and hatred for both of them was still present, so I proposed something to her.Okay, I see you Daniel.
Who else thinks he likes her back?
