Putting the song on blast, me and Felicity sang along to the song. Our voices completely off tune to the beat. We laughed hysterically, and I laughed until I cried.
"Oh my days, what is wrong with us?", she giggled, over the song.
"I don't know!", I laughed.
As we parked at the car park, our music was still blaring, everyone was staring at us for a second before they went back to their own conversations.
"Hey," I spoke as I switched off the radio, "Daniels gonna be back in today."
"What? How do you know?", she asked, stopping before she opened the door.
"Oh, I just...heard it from somewhere.", I lied and opened my door.
My mind kept replaying the events from yesterday, my heart pounding quickly as I thought of the fear I had.
I grabbed my bag from the boot of the car and me and Felicity walked into school.
Inside I was met by Patricia and her other annoying fake friends, who were probably just with her for popularity.
"Hey, Jules!", she smiled sarcastically.
I tensed. No-one called me Jules.
"My names Julie.", I pointed out.
She waved her hand dismissively, "Anyways, I heard that you and Daryl are, like, a thing now.", she said in disgust. A bitter smile forming on her plastic face.
"You're almost three days late.", I smiled thinly, pretending to look at my non-existent watch on my wrist, and titled my head before I walked off to class.
"Julie. Wait."
"What?", I spoke, stopping but not turning around.
"He loves me. Not you, he just feels sorry for the new girl.", she crossed her arms on her chest and pouted.
"You wish.", I laughed coldly.
"Just...watch out for the signs. They'll eventually show themselves anyway. Oh, by the way, I heard that Daniels coming back today!", she smirked.
"Ok?", I shrugged.
"Just...thought I'd let you know. Ta, ta bitch!", she waved me goodbye.
I contained walking to my class, not caring about whatever the fuck Patricia said. She was just jealous, and was trying to take me down. For gods sake I wasn't even new! I'd been going to school for almost a full year now!
"Why is she bothering you?", Felicity asked.
"I'm not sure, just leave it.", I waved it off, pinching the bridge of my nose, tired.
We continued walking to the next class, my mind sometimes slowly drifting towards what Patricia said.
When I got into my class, Felicity went to sit at the front whilst I took my seat at the back of the class. A few minutes later, Daryl walked into the room. He was extremely happy, what could be igniting this good mood?
"What happened?", I asked when he took his seat next to me.
"What? Can I not be happy without a special reason?", he replied, confused.
"No. You can't.", I replied, and smiled at him.
"Me and Daniel are friends again.", he said, but for some slight reason he didn't seem like he meant it.
There was a glint in his eye when he said it, but I ignored it.
"That's great!", I hugged him. This was what I've always wanted.
I sighed deeply and let go of him.~
I fixed my hoodie up, and put my hands in my pocket, I wasn't planning on staying.
Down at the end of the hallway, I saw Daryl talking to Jake. Mike was on the phone, minding his own business. I stopped in my tracks. This didn't seem right.
Patricia was standing beside Daryl, holding his arm. He didn't shake it off either. Sometimes they would make eye contact and she would smile and rest her head there. I knew it!
Daryl was using her!
As he did with every other girl.
I decided to make myself noticed slightly, and I coughed loudly. That seemed to do the trick because everyone stopped what they were doing and looked behind them. Daryl shook Patricia off and she ran to class.
"Look who decided to finally show up!", Daryl spoke, placing his hand on my shoulder.
I grabbed it and threw it off me, don't touch me.
"Hey, bro. Whereve you been?", Jake asked, trying to get to good look of me, hiding behind my hood.
"I'm here just to say something. I ain't planning to stay a second longer.", I spoke, in a low voice.
"Sure.", Daryl crossed his arm on his chest.
"I'm only doing this for Julie," I began, "She wants us to be friends, again. So I got an idea. You, go and tell her that we're friends and that our...whatever it was we had...is resolved. She'll belive you."
Daryl shook his head. "You don't come here and make me do shit for you, after one week of not seeing your annoying face, and tell me to go lie to my girlfriend!", he shouted angrily.
I tensed. Closing my hands into fists and I tried to control myself to not punch him.
But, you're doing that anyway. You're cheating on her with Patricia. You fucking bastard.
"Then what do you wanna do? 'Cos I don't see you trying to do anything!", I shouted back.
"Easy. You say sorry. I didn't do shit.", he spat.
I lifted my fist to punch him but I felt Mike grab it.
"Dont do that. You'll only get yourself into more trouble, bro.", he whispered.
I breathed out, and nodded.
"I'm not saying that. Tell her that and I'll leave you guys alone. Damn it, Daryl I'll leave the fucking continent if you want. I've got not business here.", I said and left.
I knew all their eyes were on me. I climbed up that gate and hopped out of the school premises.
Only time would tell if he did what I told him to.
