Goodbye Melanie

Ellie, Maddie, Martha, Gaby, Vinny.

Running.
Panting, wide eyes of various different colors showing the same emotion; fear. Hearts beating, pounding.

Maddie and Martha sat on the porch, both having a cigarette and watching the sun rise. They were quiet, their eyes only fixed on the orange sky. Putting out her cigarette by slowly crushing it in the ash tray, she looked up at the boyish looking girl sitting next to her. "I still love you." She mumbles, despite the fact that the girl does annoy her in some concepts, but cannot get over the infatuation that has developed around her. "Hm?" The chestnut haired girl looked over at the hazel orbs, looking at her, urging her to speak up or continue. "Never mind," Maddie stood up, her light black shirt acting as a gown as it covered her upper thighs and the right sleeve slightly drooping off her shoulder. Her hand twisted the knob open, and walked into the old ranch-styled house. Feet padding against the floor, she walked into the kitchen only to find a man slumped over the counter, cups surrounding him and three bottles of champagne on the edge of the counter. He looked passed out, the raven haired woman made a disgusted look from the stench of alcohol that rushed in her nostrils. She continued on to the bathroom, locking the door behind her.
The lanky girl was laying beside a small body that had fallen asleep, a phone in her hand. Ellie had grown close to the group after a few years, although, there is a lot of tension in this house... Vinny needed a place to stay, his apartment was burned down, and Martha and Madeline are kind of a thing, and Gaby, Gaby just ended up here because Jade couldn't take her into her house. Something to do with a relative owning the house and they recently died and gave it to someone else, i.e. her brother, so she got kicked out. She drove Gaby to Martha's, and left her with her suitcase and a beaded bracelet that was a gift. No one really knows what happened to Jade, they all lost contact with Megan and the boys. All they can do is hope she's okay, Martha thinks she'd do fine out there, after all, Jade does act rather strong and angry when she's freaked out.
Slipping off her shirt, and twisting the knob to the shower, she got under the hot water that spritzed against her body. She sat at the bottom of the tub, letting the water fall upon her as she drenched herself in soap, cleaning the filth and cigarette smoke off of her. Madeline never really talked about how she felt about Martha to anyone anymore, she kept it to herself most of the time now. Ellie, seems jealous about the fact that Martha sees Maddie in a romantic way, while she just treats her as if she were a friend this whole time. Do you know how many times they have has sex? At least four times before Ellie had even moved into the damn house. It disgusts her how fast she can change her projection within two days.
Martha keeps her feelings towards Ellie eternal. After Ellie had left to go to Illinois, she blocked out the love she had for her, and spent her time with Maddie to get her mind off of her. She was devastated even though her move was temporary.
Vinny and Gaby have a lot of tension.
They cannot be in the same room or else they break out into a large fight, screams, and eventually a few bitch slaps thrown here and there. Gaby blames Vinny for changing Jade's personality, because they kept in contact and she hung around him when she could. In Gaby's eyes, she had changed drastically. She also blamed him for her just dropping her off at this damned house, "If Jade was the old Jade," she said, "she would have taken me with her and told me what the hell was actually going on."
They never get along.
Usually the fight ends when Gaby bursts out sobbing, and Vinny screams and slams the door. It's been about four years since they have seen Jade, Megan, and the boys. Gaby still sees Alayna occasionally comes by to see all of them, but she's a successful C.E.O assistant now. She plans meetings around the world, so she barely ever sees them all.
There was a bang, and Martha rushed in grabbing the keys to the car. "We need to go." She throws the keys to Ellie, and wakes up Gaby. Martha walks abruptly and shook Vinny, "Get the fuck up we're leaving," pushing his shoulder quite hard. Maddie just got out of the shower, her hair wet and her shirt back on. "Put some goddamn pants on." And with that, Martha put on her army, (puke) green jacket and went to the car where Ellie and Gaby were already there, Ellie in the driver's seat and Gaby in the third row, laying down.
Everyone got in the car, and Ellie stepped on it.
"It's not safe here anymore."
