The car zoomed down the mountain, but the inside was quiet. Jade didn't tolerate birds that swooped under the car, so she just ran over them or let them get stuck in the engine. Everyone was quiet in the car, except for Kevin's demands on knowing where the hell they were going and why they were speeding, and Dylan nodded, agreeing with Kevin's questions. Jade ignored them, and continued on.
They have been driving for about a few hours now, Jade stopped several times for gas, and bought drinks for the four that were in the car. Megan was asleep in the backseat, and Caleb had his knees close to his chest, fingernails in his mouth and looking straight out of the windshield.
Up ahead there was a field, and the girl jerked the wheel to the right and turned into the forest, passing trees and running deers. "WHOA WHOA WHAT THE HELL JADE!?" Kevin shrieked, his eyes glaring at the girl who didn't respond and gripping onto the seat. She soon came to an opening, and she stopped to a halt. They waited an hour, and a blue grand Cherokee pulled up.
Martha got out of the car first, and knocked on the driver's window. The female rolled down the window slowly, and made a grimace to the woman, brown eyes dull towards the blue gaze.
"Did you see signs of her?" Jade asked, sitting back in her seat.
"Well, yeah Jj. If I didn't would you think I would be here right now?" She chuckled, how annoying she was in these situations. "I'm asking what the hell she did Martha, there were dead fucking bodies hanging from the trees at a public campsite." An abrupt pause, they both looked each other in the eye.
"Timothy called me. Brianne's dead."
"Figured." Jade mumbled, taking a crumpled sheet of paper out of her pocket and a blue ink pen. She wrote down a coordinate with two words under it;
Lost Lake.
"You fucking expect us to drive two fucking thousand miles?"
"Yeah, got a problem?"
"That's a lot of fucking money!"
Jade moves her seat back with a jerk, and reaches down, pulling up four stacks of cash. All one-hundred dollar bills.
Astonished, Martha's mouth dropped. "How the fuck did you get this money? Did you--"
"Rob a bank? Yes. I did."
"Are you joking?"
"Since when did this situation become a laughing matter? And why does it matter where and how I got this money? You want to live, right? I suggest you follow instructions." Jade threw the stacks at her and rolled up the window, pressing the gas and drives away.
Martha stands up, the cash in her arms.
