Timothy's POV

The next morning Gaby slept in my cabin.
The zombies were gone, except for what's left of Caleb's body in Jade's cabin. My stomach was eating itself, I opened the mini fridge and all I saw was clean water. I sighed, and took the water anyways, it's better not to have an empty stomach. I leaned up against the wall where I fell asleep with Gaby in my lap, I was too exhausted to move each other. I say the water bottle down and watched the sun rise, the orange light pouring through the windows and onto the oak floors.

I kept asking myself this morning, how did we get into this?

I got up, laying Gaby's head on my flannel. I walked outside only to see Megan, Martha, Buket, and Alayna. The group seems to get smaller and smaller... I still don't know why, but I just like to think that they left camp during the night.

But the thing is, we're in the middle of no where, some of them could have died already, dehydration, starvation... This lake seems like the only water source here.

The four just sat there, their fingers drawing in the dirt. I walked back into the cabin to find Gaby sobbing.

"SADRI. SA-A-A-DRI..." She wails.
I sit next to her and hold the back of my next.
"I WANT SADRI." She repeats that sentence and keeps looking at me expectantly, I guess she was breaking. Sadri isn't going to find us, but I think Gaby would like to think that. But I can't lie to her. I purse my lips and look to the side. "We're figuring out on how to leave here, Gaby." She just looked at me expectantly with watery eyes and snot dripping down her chin. She was gripping onto her knees and just made pitiful whining noises. "If you don't believe me, that's just going to hold you back here." I said lowly, my thumbs twirling around each other. Gaby looked away and set her head in her lap, just crying. I feel like she's about to loose all hope of going back to Wilmington.

But I know Jade isn't crazy. That black mass we saw back in Kentucky was something she was talking about. But she just can't keep us here like cattle. I get up and pace in the bathroom while ignoring Gaby's loud cries. I honestly don't know what the hell to do other than leave lost lake. But where? I'm going to have to make a plan. We need water, and food, but there's barely any food here. We can survive without it, I guess. I look down hopelessly. We have no cell phones, nothing that we can use for communication. We would have to walk in order to get back home. I basically get up and go to each of our cars. Jade is too busy fumbling with herself and thoughts to be worried about us. Usually she's so aware, but... She's lost right now. I grab left over food from each car and carry it back to the cabin. I stuff the food into the pillow unused cases that were in the bathroom cabinets, I want to leave. I decide that we will move at night and some of the morning and evening, it gets too hot to move in the middle of the day. My guesses are that we should move west, forget trying to go east, that would be the worst idea. All there is are abandoned cracking roads and desert.

I gather the remaining people in my cabin before nightfall.
