Chapter 1: James' problem

(A/N: This is my first Marauders Era fanfic. Jegulily is cute and definitely happening. Wolfstar is also a big part of this book. Hope you enjoy this! If you have a problem with gay ships, then bye. No hate pls!)

5th year:

James had a problem. When did he never? There was always some sort of problem with him. He was a drama queen. But this. This was a SERIOUS problem. James Potter had a crush. That was not the problem. He had a crush on two people. Just wait for it- this isn't even the worst part. He had a crush on his best friends brother, and the hottest girl in school (in his opinion). Both. At the same time. He couldn't help it. Lily Evans was so pretty, and kind, and adventurous, and sexy, and brave. But Regulus Black was ambitious, and sly, and proud, and little, and cute. James couldn't make up his mind.

He couldn't have both. God, he would be lucky to even get one. But... he liked both. When In doubt- talk to Remus. James stood up from his seat in the abandoned corridor, and stormed down the hall with a new sense of purpose. Fuck, how will Sirius react? James ran into the gryffindor common room, unable to find Remus. Sirius was there though. The hits just keep on coming.

"Mate- what's up? You okay?" Sirius asked, concerned after looking at James' slightly sick expression. "NO, no, Padfoot, I'm not okay. Where's Remus?" James yelled, alerting the entire common room of his presence. Sirius looked slightly stunned. "How am I supposed to know? I haven't seen Moony in hours!"  Remus stood from a chair in the corner, walking towards them. "I'm right here-"
Sirius jumped and screamed. "Moons? Where have you been?"

Remus rolled his eyes. "I've been here the entire time, bloody idiot." James was still very anxious. "Can we talk?" He said, and Remus nodded at him. James grabbed his two best friends and dragged them up the steps to their shared dorm, preparing for the worst. His heartbeat pounded in his ears as he sat down on his bed and stared at his shoes. Remus and Sirius sat across from him, and James looked up.

"Umm..." he started. "So... you know how I'm pansexual?" (A/N: Real quick- if you don't know what Pansexual means, the definition is to be attracted to all genders without preference. It falls under the omnisexual and bisexual umbrella, although they are not the same.) Remus and Sirius nodded, still expressing concern for James.

"I have a crush on... someone." James said dramatically, falling back onto his bed and letting out a sigh. Remus just kinda sat there, unfazed, while Sirius said "Yeah, we know. Lily. It's kinda obvious, Prongs." James sat back up, a little annoyed. "But it's not Lily! Or-actually, it is Lily, but it's someone else as well." Remus looked confused now. "Two people? Damn." James glared at him. "I know! It's confusing, isn't it!" He exclaimed, getting up and pacing back and forth, back and forth. "Who is it?" Asked Sirius, with a mischievous look in his eyes.

"It's....not important right now." James said, choosing not to reveal his other crush until later. "Cmon, Bambi, you can tell us. We are your friends." Said Remus, chuckling a little at the nickname.  James said  ".....I still don't get that name and it's not relevant right now. This is serious." Remus, still chuckling, pointed at Sirius. "No- THIS is Sirius." All boys hesitated for a minute before bursting out laughing. Joking around with his friends definitely took some of the weight off of James' shoulders.

"Anyone would be lucky..... not lucky but happy.... Well maybe not happy, but.... Well.... No one deserves you, Prongsie. Whether that's a compliment or insult is not important, what's important is that whoever these people are, they make you happy." Sirius said, standing up and putting a hand on James' shoulder, looking him in the eyes. Remus stood up as well. "We will help you out however you can." He said, reassuring his friend to the point where James was finally calm.

"Thanks, guys." James said, pulling the two boys in for a hug. "We... we can figure something out. Maybe you can have an open relationship, or a three way, or something?" Remus said, not exactly educated on this specific subject, but trying to be helpful. James replied with a "Maybe." Before checking the time. "Shit- I have to get to detention. Thanks, guys." James ran to the door and opened it, before turning back to look Sirius straight in the eye.

"Regulus." He said, and ran out.

It took Sirius a minute to process what happened, before realizing the situation. "What- JAMES GET BACK HERE!" The boy ran after his best friend, out of the dorm and down the staircase, leaving Remus standing there, laughing to himself.
