(Picking up where we left off in book 1)

Meme jolted forwards, his hand grasping at empty air. Ally was by his side. He grabbed onto one of the safety railing and watched as Socks fell out of the plane, his hair blowing in the wind. He twisted in the air and started shooting with the two guns Meme had given to him. Socks soon hit the ground and all the infected were coming at him. Meme watched as he parkoured up one of the gates.

"I'm gonna throw a Molotov in his direction." Ally said. Meme nodded at her as a go ahead, and she stuck her hand into her backpack and pulled out a Molotov. She threw it in the direction the horde was going. Meme heard a scream of pain over the rest of the infected, he knew that scream.

Socks, Socks was screaming in pain, but all Meme could do was watch out of the plane. Helpless.

Useless.

He wished there was something he could do, but soon after a few minutes only a few common infected and a couple of special infecteds were milling around.
"Outta gas!" The pilot shouted as they started lowering towards the helipad, the helicopter moving with the same urgency that the pilot had in his voice. The plane shook and Nadwe screamed. He was probably really freaked out since Nadwe didn't really like being in vehicles, since his parents, you know, died.

"We need to take out the tanks before we do anything, got that?" Ally said to Meme.Meme still in shock and disbelief nodded distantly and grabbed his shotgun. He started shooting at the tank, then he heard a growl really close by, like really close. Meme turned to see the helicopter pilot as now common infected. Meme turned around and unloaded 2 shots into him, earning the pilot to collapse dead.

"We can't catch a break can we?" Meme groaned.

"Nothing comes easy anymore." Laff responded. Meme chuckled and pointed to a building with a tarp blowing in the wind.

"We aren't  anywhere near Mercy hospital, and we need loot. Since all these guns are practically outta amo." Meme said throwing his gun on the ground. "That building, that I just pointed at, might be our safest bet. We can get a vantage point and we might also be able to see socks from up there." Meme suggested. Ally seemed to agree, Blaza just tightened his grip on his pistol showing he wasnt going to go down without a fight. Nadwe and Muffin were both still shaken up from the sudden crash landing. Laff just tightened the strap that held the gas mask to his face.

"Whatever you decide on, We'll follow you throughout it." Blaza said. Meme smiled. He felt like a leader.

A leader.

The rest of the groups lives all entrusted into him, and Ally, and Laff, and if you really counted him Blaza. Woolf and Dino had kept quiet for most of  the time meaning that they really flew solo most of the time. Joocie would agree with whatever Blaza agreed with since they were brothers.

"Lets get moving shall we?" They ended up making it to the top of the building, it was a struggle but they made it. There was a few shotguns, mac-10's, and even a sniper rifle. That meme took for himself since he didn't use scope as much and wanted to get better with it. He started down into the street. On the side of the building late a gate. Which walled off the building and everything behind it from the convenient store and subway. Which they would need to take in hopes of getting anywhere near mercy hospital. Even if it meant they had to run it.

Socks felt the wind running through his hair. He twisted midfall to start getting some shots in. As he hit the ground with a grunt he began to start swinging with the axe he had strapped to his back. Catching a few infected.

"Remember what you gotta do Socks." Socks said to himself. He ran forwards through the crowd. Zombies reached to stop him but of course he dodged and weaved throughout. The zombies behind him raced after him. All part of the plan. He thought to himself proud. Until a jockey tried to catch him. He ducked and picked up the pace. He was the sacrifice, the guy that everyone would remember as he went down in history as the guy "That was good enough" at what he did. The guy "that saved everyone and died a hero" He then heard a glass bottle shatter behind him and felt the heat of fire. Burning at his legs, his hoodie, his arms. He screamed in  pain but kept moving. He wasn't going to give up. He had made it to the exit of the alley and then heard the howl of a charger. He felt himself get picked up and as it grabbed him they charged into the middle of the street and the charger started to pummel him. He screamed and let out the cries of agony so loud that the deaf could hear it. He heard gunshots and felt himself get released from the charger's grip as it fell away dead.

"Dear god." he whispered to himself as that was all he could muster out. He squinted his eyes and saw someone on top a building a sniper rifle in hand. It turned away. Assuming that Socks was dead. Socks winded for a second stared up at the stars now merging together into the night sky as just a  white stripe on a dark bluish black background. After regaining his strength and breath back   Socks started to crawl, which was easier with his increased strength but still tedious and it hurt a lot. As he crawled into the alley he leaned himself up against a brick wall. He thought about his friends. He remembered what Tbh said when they had first met.

"Maybe I am Mr. Kamikaze after all." He wondered tiredly before his eyes shut and he drifted off into sleep.
