Assassin's Secret

chapter 30

Astralea's POV

I'm not sure if I'm ready to come home, but I don't think I have a choice. There is one last thing I have to do.

On my way to the building where I'm holding my dear prisoners, I felt that someone is following me. So I turn into the alley and jump up, hiding on top of someone's AC unit. I hope it doesn't break under me.

A shadow turns into the alley, I recognize him.

I jump on top of him, knocking him to the floor and pressing a knife to his throat.

"Why are you following me?"

"Do I really need to answer that question?" Enzo asks me.

"Yes."

"Wanted to make sure you are staying out of trouble. "

Thats a shitty excuse.

"I'm not. We done here." I get up from him and start walking away.

"You found them haven't you?"

I pause.

"Yes."

"I'm coming with you."

"No you are fucking not."

"I might not have been his brother, but that doesn't mean I don't care. His death is on me."

Taking our people from New York was the main reason why we are here and that's what led to Nex's death. Enzo didn't stand the ground. He didn't tell his father to shut up.

"I'm not going to intervene, I'm just going to watch, I need to see them."

I wanted to say no, but I feel like he needed that closure. So I nodded and started walking away.

Finding men that took Nex took me a while. 57 bodies to be exact. Probably the most I've killed on the mission.

Is this even a mission.

After exploring for a while I found 8 men that took Nex, I figured which one killed him.

His name is Gary. Someone named Gary killed my brother and that made me even more mad.

There is nothing special about him, absolutely nothing. He is part of a small gang, has a criminal record for robbery, covered in ugly tattoos. Probably stick and poke in prison. I'm surprised he even survived prison.

I partially feel bad for him. When he pulled a trigger he didn't know that I would come after him.

His 7 friends I already killed. Stabbed them in the ribs and spine. It takes a while to die like that, and each breath is painful, each movement is deadly.

A few of them figured that fast, and started moving, nomatter how much it hurt, just to die faster. Some thought that they will make it out alive and didn't move, died slowly. Watching that made me feel a little better.

But not Gary. He has to die another way.

Enzo and I walk into a barely lit up room, Gary is tied to a chair. Fear in his eyes. He knows what's about to happen.
