The traveller was aware that confronting the electro archon was a bad idea. He didn't realise it would be this bad, though. It was to save Thoma from getting his vision taken away and his ambition being potentially forgotten, though, so in his eyes, it was worth it.

However, now he was a wanted fugitive along with Thoma, and that's exactly why he was being taken to the resistance by one of its members as of now.

The soldier's name is Teppei. He wore a resistance uniform which consisted of white, red, black, and hints of blue. It was a lot less bulky looking than the shogunates' soldiers. There was also a different symbol on the arms than the electro one.

"We're here!" he announced as they entered the resistance territory. Small huts made of wood were scattered across the grounds along with the resistance's respective symbols. Instead of black and purple, it was white and a light blue. Unfortunately, there were many injured soldiers laying on the ground under pitiful shelters of straw.

There was lightning everywhere and the fall of rain was eternal and was hardly a safe place for the injured.

The blonde gawked around along with his floating guide as Teppei continued to guide the pair to the main building, where a short male with brown hair and a pair of ears and a tail greeted them. He seemed important, as he wasn't wearing the common uniform all the others were wearing.

The trio walked over to him, and Teppei started to explain how he met the mysterious traveller.

"This is what happened General Gorou", Teppei started, "I was surrounded by the Shogunate Samurai, and they came to my rescue. They use the elements without a vision! " The young soldier marvelled, "The resistance could really use people with that kind of skill." We should bring them in! "

The general hummed before clearing his throat.

"I presume you've already heard that the purpose of the resistance is to abolish the Vision Hunt Decree and defeat the Shogun's army." He crossed his arms before giving them a serious look, "This is no easy task. Each person who sets foot on the battlefield must be ready to sacrifice their lives. Tell me why you wish to join. The resistance cannot accept anyone without a soldier's will; you and I must be certain of your decision. "

Aether chuckled awkwardly, "Let me tell you about the seizure of the 100th vision..."

The general uncrossed his arms and said, "You're referring to the ceremony that marked the 100th vision that was seized, right? Yes, we received the news of it here, despite it taking place in Inazuma City. He furrowed his eyebrows and looked down in thought, "There was a disturbance, allegedly... highly unusual, considering that the Raiden Shogun appeared in person..."

Gorou huffed slightly before looking up towards the traveller again. "But why do you wish to discuss this all of a sudden? Unless you have something to share"

"Yeaaah, um..." Aether started before trailing off, "It was me."

The general's eyes widened, "... What?"

Paimon decided it was a good time to start explaining, "Yup! We had a fight with the Raiden Shogun and everything. Then, we grabbed the vision bearer and whisked him off to safety. After that, they added us to the army's wanted list... That's why we're here. "

"We? I was the one who fought her thou-"

"Hush traveller! Paimon was the best form of moral support! "

Gorou put his hand to his chin and said, "Now that you mention it, we did just recover a bounty notice from a Shogunate Samurai defeated in battle. It read, 'Capture the blonde-haired traveller, and it's mysterious flying pet'." He hummed in realisation, "So they're referring to you then?"

Aether quickly brought his hand to his mouth to stifle a cackle that nearly escaped, and Paimon emitted anger.

"WHAT?! WHAT DO THEY MEAN BY "MYSTERIOUS FLYING PET?" She screeched, clearly unhappy with the description.

"You. They're describing you, Paimon. " Aether smirked and the pixie's face grew dark red, obviously furious with the travelers' remark.

"Paimon figured that much! You're so mean! "

The general let out a small laugh, "My apologies, I understand your situation well enough for now. On behalf of the resistance, welcome to our ranks. " He smiled slightly and said, "Her excellency is currently away from the camp. We don't know where she went, but she instructed us to take care of everything in her absence. "

He gestured over to Teppei, "I'll ask Teppei to show you around the camp first, and then dispatch you straight to the front line. If you're ready, of course. "

The blonde nodded eagerly and gave a determined smile, "You got it!"

Teppei smiled, "I used to be in the Logistics Division, so I'm the right person to show you around—I know the setup like the back of my hand. I'll make sure you get a warm welcome! "

Teppei pointed to a small hut, "We'll start at the field's hospital. Some of my friends are recovering there. Last time I saw them, I promised that I'd introduce any new recruits. When they're finally back on the battlefield alongside us, we'll be brothers in arms! "

Paimon and the traveller nodded before Paimon let out a surprisingly loud gasp, as if she'd been enlightened.

"TRAVELleER!" Paimon shouted in Aether's ears, and his eyes widened in shock.

"Paimon, I'm literally right here, shut u-"

"KAZOO'S FRIEND!?????"

"Oh, right. Teppei do you, by any chance, know a [h/c] girl with a hydro vision? "

Teppei hummed quietly before he gave a shocked expression.

"You know [L/N]? As in the [L/N]? The reeeeaaally quiet one? The one that hates people? " The one-"

Paimon laughs awkwardly, "We get it, Teppei... Isn't [L/N] a weird-sounding first name, though?"

"That's because it's her last name. She's never told anyone her first name, and when anyone asks, they're just given a dead-looking stare. " He shivered slightly, "In short, she's super scary, but she's a great fighter, and I hope to talk to her one day!"

"What's the most she's ever said to someone?"

"bye... Wait once she said GOODbye!"

Aether groaned quietly, "This is gonna be annoying..."
