After tryouts Alex and I went to Starbucks to get ourselves some much needed caffeine with a tad of sugar, "These chocolate and caramel muffins are to die for!"Lex says while taking a bite of the sweet chocolate muffin, "I know right."I say while checking my mirrors before I drive out the parking lot, "We just have to finish them before we get home."

"Why?"

I sigh, "You know how crazy my mother goes with me being on a diet and exercising whenever gymnastics season comes."Alex drinks her iced-coffee, "I pity you sometimes."

"I pity myself too."I say while putting on the radio, "Do you want me to drop you off or do you want to come home with me?"

"Did you forget that we have to go to the mall to get you an outfit for tonight?"

"Winter!"Alex exclaims after I pass the red light, "Sorry that was a mistake,I was just thinking about the date with Jake."I say while putting my right blinker on, "I am very nervous."

"Don't be,everything is going to go well."Alex says while taking the final bite of her muffin, "I'll make sure of it!"

"Thank you Lex."I say while pulling up my drive way.

Walking through the front door mom greets me with a smile,"How was try-outs?" I place my gym bag on the couch and proceed my way to the kitchen to grab an apple,"I got in." She stirs her pot that's on the stove,"Excellent." She simply comments,I roll my eyes, "We going to my room."

"We?"

I walk to the fridge and take out to bottles of water "Yes Lex is here." I say while handing Alexandria her water, "Hi Ms.W."Lex greets.

"Hi sweetie,how are you?"Mom asks after putting some broccoli in the pot. "I'm good thank you and you?"

"I'm good my dear."Mom says while wiping her hands apron she had on. "You girls better work hard this season I want to see both of you at nationals,I'm I clear?"

"Yes mum now if you will excuse us we have to get ready,we are going to go to the mall in an hour or so."

"Oh need some money?"

"No thanks,I have."I say while walking up the stairs, "What the hell who says no to money?"I take a sip of my water, "Lex I still have to money my dad sent me last week,I don't need more money I gave enough."

"Oh so he called this time?"I walk towards my closet, "No."

"But Wint hasn't it been like 2 weeks since he left?"Alex asks from my bedroom, "Yes it has."I pull out some grey sweats and a white crop top, "Did he at least send a text when he arrived?"

"No,let's please talk about something else."I say not wanting to talk about my father who totally neglects my mother and I when he goes on his business trips,he could leave for 6 months and not call even once.

"Umm okay has Jake sent you a text yet?"Alex asks before connecting to my speaker, "Oh I have not checked my phone."I walk towards my gymnastics jacket where I had placed my phone after tryouts, "Eeep I think this is from him."I say while showing Lex a text from an unknown number.

Hey,so we still on for tonight?

"Eeee,it's him it's him it's him!"I exclaim while Alex and I jump up and down, "What's wrong?"Lex asks after seeing my facial expression change, "He is online that means he saw that I read his message,what do I say Lex!?"

"Clam down,just say hey yes,it's literally the perfect thing to say it's doesn't make it seem like you're desperate it also doesn't make it seem like you're uninterested."Alex says with a I'm so smart look on her face, "Okay okay."I say while typing.

"He responded!"I exclaim, "Wow that was fast,what did he say?" Alex asks while putting her face in my phone

Great,so we''ll meet at O's at 20:00.

"O's?Dude that restaurant is sooo expensive."Alex says with a shocked expression on her face, "Oh wait I forgot who I'm talking to you are literally the richest girl in school you can buy that whole restaurant with your monthly allowance."I roll my eyes, "Alex."

"Sorry."She says sarcastically, "Have you responded to Jake's message?"

"Yeah,let us go."I say while grabbing my handbag and my car keys.

"Mom we going to the mall,see you later."I say while grabbing my winter coat from the coatrack, "Bye sweeties enjoy."

"Bye Ms.W."Alex says before we walk out the door.
