Winter's pov

It is now the middle of the year,meaning that we are approaching the winter season,I enter the house and place my coat that I usually wear to school on the coatrack before walking towards the kitchen.

I greet my mother who was sitting on one of the wooden barstool by the kitchen island with a kiss on the cheek before walking towards the fridge and grabbing an apple.My father walks in with a brown leather briefcase in one hand and a black suitcase in the another,I mentally role my eyes before saying,"Another trip?"

"Yes."He says with pitiful eyes.

"How long?Two?Three?"I ask while biting into my apple.

"Six."He says and I choke on my apple,I let out a few coughs before asking,"Six months!?"

"Yes honey,I'm sorry."

"But that dad that means-

"If I had a choice I wouldn't go trust me."

"You do have a choice,you are the flipen owner of the company!"I exclaim.

"Robert  this a very important chapter in her life,it is her graduation,can you not make an exception?"

"No Rachel,this is a very important business deal it is worth more than twenty million,I can not let this slide."

"But Rob-

"No mom do not argue with him,I am used to this,this is the normal in this family,he is never here when I need him,then he comes back and tries to win me over with gifts."I say then the room is filled with silence.

I scoff before saying,"I am going to my room,have a nice trip father."

"Winter,honey please open the door."My mom says gently knocking on my room door.

"With all due respect mom,I just really want to be alone right now."

"It will not take long honey,just please...."She trails off and I keep quite waiting for her to continue,"I have something important to tell you."She say and I sigh while slowly getting up.

"Yes?"I question as I open the door.

"There is someone who is coming to live with us for a bit."

"Who is this someone?"I ask in a confused tone.

"His name is Bradley William Simpson,he is from England and he is the new foreign exchanged student at your school."

"Why the fuck does he have to live here?"

"Winter Daniel Winchester language."She glares,"Sorry mum."

"Anna Marie and I used to be bestfriends back when I lived in England,so when she told me that her son,Bradley is coming to America to better his studies I immediately offer for him to stay here with us."

I sigh before asking,"When is he coming over and when is he leaving?"

"Wint."Mum chuckles.

"Mum I'm being serious."

"Oh,ummm he is coming tomorrow."My mum says giving an awkward smile.

"And how long is he staying?"

"Umm he is going to stay with us for a year."Mum responds and I groan into my pillow.She steps closer and kisses my head before saying,"Wint he is really a nice guy,you will like him,trust me."

Yeah right,we'll see about that.

"Just give him a chance yeah?"She asks and I humm in response,"That is my girl."She says before walking towards the door.

The floor knob clicks and my mom turns to me and says,"Wint maybe you should have a talk with your father before he leaves."

"Do I really have to?"

"Yes,you know what I always say,it is never-

"Yeah yeah,it is never good to leave things on bad terms with people,I will go talk to him."

I walk out my room and search around the house for my father,but he is no where to be found,as I was about to turn back to go my room I hear the sound of a car engine,I quickly rush outside and I am met with my father's black Lamborghini going in reverse.

"Dad,wait!"I shout and he comes to a halt.

"Yes?"

"I just wanted to say good luck on your business trip I hope you nail the deal."I chuckle before continueing,"Do not forget about us this time."

He gives a faux smile before saying "I will not sweetheart,promise."

"Bye dad have a safe trip."I say while slowly backing away from the car.

"Bye Princess."
