Joel looked out over the garden.
It was filled with some of the finest, lushest plants, all pink and blue. He'd consulted Katherine so much he'd given her a shulker box of concrete as thank you, but it was worth it for Lizzie.
He looked over his hard work. Lilacs, pink roses, wisteria, blossoms, flowering azaleas, cornflowers, blue orchids, sea buds, wave blooms and more all decorated the garden, and the salty sea air blended beautifully with the lush floral scents. Lizzie had gasped in amazement when she'd first seen it, and started running around like a little kid, looking at each and every flower.
"Joel?"
He turned around and blinked, smiling. "Lizzie!"
She smiled, a beautiful smile, one that put the garden and the entirety of Mezalea to shame, and moved forward to hug him, pecking his lips. Joel ran a hand through her pink hair, and she pulled back slightly, lips twitching. He'd been predictably shocked when she'd emerged from the sea with blue skin and axolotl fins, but she looked even more radiantly stunning as so.
"How are you?" Lizzie asked, brushing some of his hair away from his face. The sensation was odd, particularly with her webbed hands, but it still felt great. Her blue eyes gazed at him.
"I'm always great with you." Joel couldn't have said a truer sentence in his life. She was the most beautiful, perfect, amazing woman he had ever known ever.
Lizzie grinned at him, fluffing some of his hair. It was already a mess, anyway. "Are you still up for dinner tonight? I need to discuss something with you."
"Of course, Lizzie."

Your brother is going to find you soon... Exor whispered in their ear.
Xornoth screwed their eyes shut, having just finished volume two of the plant book. Leave me alone.
But this is too much fun.
They took a lingering glance around the room. Do you even know where I am?
Silence.
They assumed they were correct then.
It was so... unusual, being alone for so long. One of Joel's clones had walked in around... An hour ago if they actually remembered how to tell the time on the grandfather clock, telling them that the Ocean Queen had arrived and to try and be quiet so she didn't throw a trident at anyone.
Out of curiosity, Xornoth's eyes flickered to not Overgrown and Undergrove Medical Plants Volume Three, but the thicker, older book.
Their hands reached out and pulled it into their lap. It was surprisingly heavy, and the cover was of thick leather.
Oceanic and Codish Healing Plants of the Sea.
There wasn't a blurb, Xornoth noticed. With cautious fingers, they flipped the book open, careful in case the pages creased.
Savola Pearls originate from the Oceanic Empire, liking warm climates. They grow along the shores of Mezalea, Pixandria, and occasionally the Cod Empire. The plants are mint green, with large reflective berries, hence the 'pearl' part of the name. The juice can be used as an antiseptic, and the pearls can be eaten to stop infection from internal injures.
Amikyla Daisies are a kind of daisy that grows in the Cod Empire. They like watery climates. They are sometimes found in Oceanic Empire islands and rarely next to Mythland lakes. The daisies have yellow-green petals and red centres. The roots can be used as a painkiller, although eating the petals can cause seizures.
