28. "On three? I can't do it alone."

Lewis Hamilton POV

In the last chapter...

Me: You have no idea how much I liked today...

Skylar: Me too, I loved seeing you with my family...

Me: I can't wait for us to do this all the time, I love your family, I want to give as much as I can. - She started crying and she put her hands on her face. - Woah, what's going on?

Skylar: Nothing, I'm just emotional... - She tried to speak through the tears.

Me: Sky...

Skylar: Ah, fuck, we always end up in this situation. It might be nothing.

Me: Sky, what's wrong?

Skylar: I'm... Ah... I'm two days late. My period should've come already, I'm late. And I just feel irresponsible.

Me: What? - We let ourselves sit down on the bed and I held her hand.

Now...

Skylar: Yes, I don't know if it's because I've been stressed more than usual, or that my routine has changed so much, but I'm usually never late. - She cried.

I hugged her and tried to calm her down.

Me: Listen, baby, we've talked about this. If it happened, it happened. But right now we should just wait and get a test as soon as possible...

She nodded.

Skylar: We should be celebrating your win... - She whined.

Me: That's not the most important thing right now... Tomorrow when we get to London we're buying a test... Do you think it's soon enough to test?

Skylar: They say to wait 5 days after you've missed your period... Tomorrow it'll be 3. I don't know. Let's get the regular one and a digital one... Just to be sure. 

Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019 - London, United Kingdom

We'd stayed together at my house since Sunday, and Skylar hadn't taken the test and hadn't had her period yet. She decided she wanted to take it after those 5 days and I supported her. The last few days had been all cuddles and snuggles, we weren't in the mood for anything else, weirdly. 

We had talked and we weren't sure what to think. On one hand, we were going through the busiest part of our lives and nothing was well thought out. On the other hand, no one is ever really ready, and we knew that. All that babies need is love, and we had plenty to give.

I was staring at the ceiling thing about all of these things when she woke up.

She turned to me and I kissed her forehead.

Skylar: Let's go? - She softly asked. 

I nodded and we got up. She went to the bathroom by herself at first.

Skylar: Peeing in a cup is just... An experience. - She giggled and I laughed for the first time that day. - I'm done, come in. 

I got in there and she was unwrapping the tests. 

Skylar Brown POV

I was super nervous, but having Lewis next to me made the experience a lot less terrifying. 

Me: Should we do the least expensive first? - I asked as I picked that one up. I didn't even wait for Lewis's response and I dipped it in the pee cup. - Wow, what an experience... Sorry, I make jokes when I'm nervous.
