Mom: Yes, but I think she'd like roses instead, I don't know.
My mom and El were talking on the phone. Eleanor was at our house, where we were hosting the gender reveal party, while Lewis and I were at my parents' house.
Mom: Ooh, honey, you can't be here... - My mom noticed I'd just entered the room where she was and pushed me outside.
Lewis laughed.
Lewis: Do you really think she'll let you have the slightest idea of how the party will be?
Me: Well, I was hoping... - I laughed and sat next to him. - What do you think it is? - I put my hands on my belly. - My mom said she felt my sister was a girl, and that I was a girl, and that Mase was a boy... But I don't really know.
Lewis: I don't know. But I can tell you whatever it is it's going to be loved so so much. - He put his arm around me just as my mom opened the door to the backyard.
Mom: Let's go? - She had a big smile on her face. - El's got everything ready, and people are on their way.
I nodded and we all got in the car.
Lewis was driving, it was my parents' first time in a car with him. My dad couldn't hide his excitement, but my mom had a weird look on her face.
Mom: Well, Lew, you can't drive fast with my grandson in the car...
Me: Grandson?
Mom: It's just a hunch.
Lewis laughed.
Lewis: Don't worry, I'm a really good driver, one of the best actually! - My mom laughed. - No, but don't worry, I drive safely with Skylar.
My mom quickly interrupted him.
Mom: ... And by yourself too! I worry about you!
Dad: Oh, you have no idea how she reacts on race days, she goes crazy, always covering her eyes.
Lewis giggled.
Mom: Yes, I know it may be too much, but I can't even look at the speed you're going, I look away...
Dad:... Which is a shame because it's always on the screen.
We all laughed.
When we got to the house, El and Daniel were at the door with huge smiles on their faces (which was usual for Daniel, let's be honest).
El: You have no idea how good this is looking. - El hugged me and pulled me inside.
Daniel: I'm trying so hard not to eat anything...
The party was in the backyard, so they blindfolded me and Lewis and took us there.
Mom: Wow, this is beautiful!
Dad: Those look delicious... - My dad was apparently already looking for the food...
El: Ok, you can take your blindfolds off in three, two, one...
EVERYONE: SURPRISEEEE!
We took off our blindfolds and our backyard was filled with friends and family. It was so well decorated, there were balloons everywhere, it was all white and gold, mouthwatering food, and a huge thing of unlit fireworks in the middle.
El saw me looking at it and whispered in my ear.
Eleanor: That's how you'll find out if it's a boy or a girl, it's either pink or blue.
