The next morning, Carolyn and Christopher were sitting in the kitchen with a cup of coffee in their hands

"I'm glad she's here" Carolyn sighed

"She was really comfortable last night with Derek" Christopher smiled

"She was.. She barely woke up" Carolyn replied "What will we do once she's in isolation?"

"I don't know.." Christopher sighed "We can still go check on her but the kids aren't allowed"

"We can set up a video chat or anything.." Carolyn sighed

"This will hurt them" Christopher sighed

"Mom! Mom!" Amelia screamed

Carolyn and Christopher put their mugs on top of the kitchen counter, quickly shared a scared expression and ran to where the kids were

Meredith was vomiting into the bucket as she whimpered in pain

"Shh, we're here" Carolyn rubbed Meredith's back as Christopher was gathering her meds

"Hurts" She whimpered as every inch of her body was burning in pain.

"Shh, Christopher is getting your meds" Carolyn brushed some hairs out of Meredith's face

"Here" He jogged back inside and inserted Meredith's meds into her central line

Derek kept holding her hand the whole time

"We'll go back to the hospital in a bit" Carolyn softly said

"I really don't want to" Meredith sobbes

"I'll come see you every day" Derek assured Meredith

"Please don't leave me" Meredith looked at him in fear

"Oh Meredith, none of us are leaving you" Carolyn kissed the teen girl's forehead

"You don't have to worry about that sweetie" Christopher rubbed her arm gently

"I'm so tired" She cried out

"Why don't you try and take a nap while we're gonna pack your bags again?" Christopher suggested

"I can pack by myself, you don't have to do everything" Meredith looked at them with apoletical eyes

"Hey, don't you worry about that" Carolyn firmly said

Derek nodded and wrapped his arms around Meredith who was completely covered by blankets in a try to keep the shivering young girl warm

It didn't take long before Meredith fell asleep again

"Dad, why is she doing so bad already?" Derek asked

"She was weak before, Derek. She needs to rest now so she'll be strong enough for her next treatment again" Christopher rubbed his son's back

"I hate to see her like this! She doesn't deserve any of this shit!" Derek tried not to yell so he wouldn't wake up Meredith but bursted out in tears

"Come here son" Christopher pulled Derek into his arms

"She'll be okay" Carolyn joined their hug

"What if she's not?" Derek asked scared

"Don't think like that Derek" Mark said as he rubbed his best friend's back

"She'll be okay" Amy quietly joined them

"I'll start packing her stuff" Carolyn excused herself and went to collect all Meredith's belongings. She put some extra stuff in the bag in a hope Meredith would enjoy some cookies soon again

Carolyn didn't notice she was crying until her tears started to wet the shirt in her hands

"When are you ready?" Christopher asked

"10 more minutes" Carolyn said as she quickly wiped away her tears

"Honey.." Christopher sighed and pulled her into a hug

"She's like our daughter, she can't be sick, this is a mad and cruel joke!" Carolyn raised her voice

"I know" Christopher sighed

"Did Ellis say something to you?" Carolyn asked

"She didn't. Apparently she asked Richard how many sessions of chemo Meredith would receive"

"She's the doctor Grey and doesn't even know cancer is unpredictable?" Carolyn scoffed

"I don't understand how anyone could care so less about their kid.. I really don't" Christopher said

"Come on, don't think about this too much, let's bring Meredith back to the hospital" Carolyn grabbed Christopher's hand

"She'll be devastated again in that hospital" He sighed

"The kids wanted to go see her a lot" Carolyn smiled softly

"They really love her" Christopher smiled "And we love her, so she'll be okay. She has all of us" Christopher kissed Carolyn's forehead

"She has all of us" Carolyn firmly said "I'll go help her get dressed first. Can you load the car with the boys?" Carolyn asked

"We'll take care of it" Christopher smiled

Carolyn walked back to the living room and saw her kids sitting up with Meredith "Hey sweetie, how are you feeling?" She asked

"Okay" Meredith weakly forced a smile "Just tired and my stomach"

"Boys, can you help dad with loading everything into the car?" Carolyn asked and both boys walked out of the room

"I'm so sorry for being so annoying" Meredith said

"Hey, you aren't being annoying. We love having you around and we wanna take care of you just like we would with all our other kids" Carolyn kissed Meredith's head

"Thank you so much. It really means a lot to me" She said before she yawned

"I know but don't thank us, just let us do this" Carolyn smiled "Now let's get you dressed so we can return to the hospital. Maybe we can watch some movies later on" Carolyn smiled

"Yeah" Meredith yawned again

"Oh Meredith" Carolyn rested the young girl's head on her chest as she started to change her clothes

"Aww" Meredith winced at the touch of Carolyn

"Meredith?" Carolyn frowned and when she took off Meredith's sweater, she could see why. A huge bruise had formed on her collarbone

"It's okay. It's the leukemia" Meredith whispered

"Oh dear" Carolyn sighed and had to fight back tears

"Derek asked me to dress you with his sweater" Carolyn showed her Derek's favorite

"He's so sweet" Meredith smiled for real and this time it wasn't a small one. It warmed Carolyn's heart to see how much Meredith and Derek loved each other"
