"Okay Meredith, first we're gonna take scans to see if you reached remission" Arizona smiled softly and Meredith nodded

Meredith had been having a good day. She was smiling, she had a good feeling about this. She really did believe that she would reach remission, for once in her life things would go as planned

"Can I come?" Carolyn asked

"Of course, the rest of you has to wait in the waiting room" Arizona nodded

Derek, Amelia and Mark went over to the waiting room and took a seat on one of the couches

Time went by before their dad walked towards them "They are bringing her back to her room" Christopher smiled so they made their way over to Meredith's room and arrived when their mom locked the wheels of Meredith's hospital bed

"How did it go?" Amelia asked Meredith

"Good I think" Meredith smiled softly

"Dad?" Derek looked at his father

"Arizona is going over them, she will be here in a bit to discuss the results" Christopherd rubbed his son's back

"Let me help you sit up a bit more" Carolyn softly smiled and raised the head of Meredith's bed. Derek and Amy climbed in next to her while Mark was sitting at the footrest

"How's Addison?" Meredith teased

"Hey, you're supposed to be on my side! I think those hours of chemo made you forget that" Mark joked

"Oh come on, Markie. We just wanna meet her" She laughed

"Soon" He sighed

"But soon I might be isolation" Meredith sighed

"That's right" Arizona walked in "You're in remission" She smiled widely and all of them gasped. Carolyn got pulled into Christopher's arms as the kids embraced each other

"Really?" Meredith smiled

"Really" Arizona confirmed. I'll come back in a bit to discuss our next steps but celebrate first" She smiled softly

"Oh Meredith" Carolyn wrapped her arms around the teenage girl

"You did it" Christopher joined their hug

"Now I wanna see Addison" Meredith giggled "Before I go into isolation"

"Mer" Mark groaned as he, just like everyone else, joined the hug

"I'm so proud of you" Derek smiled as he looked into Meredith's eyes

"I love you" Meredith smiled widely "I love all of you" She giggled

"We love you too, Mer" Amelia giggled as they all let go

"I wanna get out of here" Meredith laughed

"Just a little bit longer and it will be over" Carolyn kissed Meredith's head

"I- Does my mother know?" Meredith asked

"I don't think so. Do you want me to page her?" Christopher asked

"Yeah" Meredith breathed and cuddled closer into Derek's arms

"Maybe we can go see the ferry boats when you're released" Derek softly said

"I would love that" Meredith nodded "I wanna smell the fresh air" She giggled as she thought of the current smell of sanitizer

"Still wanna become a doctor?" Derek smirked

"Yes! And I'll be better than you" She laughed

"No one will become better than me" Mark jumped in

"Oh hush!" Meredith laughed but felt exhaustion taking over

"You wanna do boob jobs, that's hardly being a surgeon" Amelia frowned

"At least I'll get to see different parts of the body and not just a jelly brain" Mark rolled his eyes "Besides, we'll work together a lot as I'll have to make your patients brand new"

"Of course" Amelia rolled her eyes

Meredith tried to follow their conversation as she was resting in Derek's arms. She needed to let everything sink in

She was in remission

Only a few more rounds of chemo left before the transplant which would hopefully lead to no relapse.. If only that could be true

"Meredith?" She heard her mother's voice

"We'll be back in a bit" Carolyn smiled softly and stood up. Derek helped Meredith to lay down against the pillows before he planted a kiss on her forehead and followed his family outside "We're gonna get some coffee, we'll be right back"

"Are you okay Meredith?" Ellis asked

"I'm in remission," Meredith smiled softly. Her words rather soft as she mumbled because of the exhaustion

"Really?" Meredith could see her mother's eyes kind of sparkling. She had never seen her mother like this

Was this a good thing?

"Yes. Arizona will take a look to see what has to happen before the transplant so she should be over in a bit. You can stay if you want" Meredith softly replied

"I would love that" Ellis smiled softly

"Would you mind if I just close my eyes for a bit?" Meredith sheepily asked

"No- If you want, I can go-" Ellis quickly said

"No please, stay?" Meredith whispered

"Okay" Ellis nodded "Okay"
