"Mer, your mom is here" Amelia said as she woke up Meredith

"Oh- Tell her I'm coming down soon" Meredith yawned

"Do you need some help?" Amelia asked

"I'll be fine" Meredith smiled softly and pushed herself up. It's been two months since she was released and her body was still recovering so Carolyn was homeschooling her to make sure she wouldn't get behind

As Meredith was dressing herself, Carolyn knocked on the door

"Come in" Meredith replied with an exhausted voice

"Hi dear, do you need a hand?" She offered

"I got it" Meredith nodded firmly but struggled to wrap the scarf around her head. Her hair was slowly growing back, leaving some peach fuzz but she rather covered it up

"Here" Carolyn helped holding it so Meredith could wrap it easier

"Thanks" Meredith nodded softly

"No problem, dear. Let's go downstairs, your mother has something for you" She smiled softly

"Okay" Meredith leaned a bit on Carolyn as she walked down the stairs

"Meredith, hi" Ellis breathed as she saw her daughter walking down the stairs

"Hi" Meredith breathed and collapsed on the couch in front of where Ellis was sitting

"How have you been doing?" Ellis asked

"I think school is going pretty okay. Thanks to Carolyn and Amelia" Meredith softly smiled

"And with other.. stuff?" Ellis seemed to be a bit uncomfortable

"It's all going well" Meredith softly smiled

"She's been recovering well. Only one to two naps a day. Oh and Meredith, don't forget to tell your mother that you've been awake before 9am a few times" Carolyn laughed causing Meredith to chuckle

"I think that's Derek's fault" She groaned as she kept having a smile

"It's good. Waking up early is good" Ellis nodded

"Yeah" Meredith breathed "I- We also go for a walk sometimes" Meredith started telling her mother

"Oh really? How's your stamina building up?" Ellis asked, sounding like a doctor once again

"It's been okay, no?" She looked at Carolyn

"It's been pretty good in fact" Carolyn nodded and softly rubbed Meredith's back

After Ellis' visit Carolyn was helping Meredith to get comfortable on the couch

"I just hate it how awkward it is sometimes" Meredith sighed

"You did really well and she wasn't awful either. Just close your eyes and rest a bit" Carolyn kissed Meredith's forehead and tucked in the teenage girl "I'll make some snacks, you need to gain some weight" She chuckled

"Snickerdoodles?" Meredith opened her eyes again, this time wide and with a soft smile

"Snickerdoodles" Carolyn confirmed "Now rest"

"Thanks Carolyn" Meredith whispered and closed her eyes again. She felt Carolyn kissing her forehead once more

Meredith slept peacefully until she felt someone was shaking her awake

"Wanna sleep" She mumbled

"You have to wake up!" Amelia giggled

"Why?" Meredith groaned

"Because Mark is here with Addison!" Amelia laughed

"No way?" Meredith gasped "Finally" She sighed as she pushed herself up

"Come on!" Amelia grabbed Meredith's hand and together they walked to the kitchen

"Oh Meredith, you're awake" Carolyn smiled

"Addie, this is Mer. My younger sister" Mark introduced them "Mer, this is Addie"

"Hi!" Addison softly hugged Meredith

"Hey, nice to meet you" Meredith smiled softly and leaned on Amelia as she was exhausted which was immediately noticed by Carolyn

"Why don't you all go sit down on the couch so you can get to know each other while I'm gonna go grab you something to eat and drink" She softly suggested

"Thanks mom" Derek smiled and put his arm around Meredith's waist as he led her back to the living room. The two of them cuddled up on the couch while Addison and Mark did the same on the other couch

"I hate you all" Amelia chuckled as she sat down by herself

"Stop crying Amy" Mark teased her

"I'm dad's favourite anyway" Amelia smiled

"That's me" Derek laughed

"Na-ah. Me and Mer, his two girls" Amelia laughed

"Are they always like this?" Addison chuckled as she asked Meredith

"Yeah.. You'll get used to it" Meredith giggled

"It's better than reality tv" Addison laughed

"You seem pretty decent to be dating Mark" Meredith laughed

"Mer!" Mark rolled his eyes

"You know I'm teasing you" Meredith winked

"How long have you been together?" Addison asked Meredith and Derek

"A bit. We don't really keep track of it" Derek smiled softly

"No because Meredith moved in with the Shepherds because she was Amy's best friend and Meredith and Derek later fell in love with each other" Mark laughed

"It didn't go like that, Mark. You know it" Derek sighed

"It doesn't matter. You two are cute together" Addison smiled

"I hate to admit but you and Mark.. It has potential" Meredith winked

"You're all so dirty" Amelia sighed "I feel lonely!"

"Don't complain. You'll get my snickerdoodles" Derek said

"Just because you're obsessed with healthy food" Amelia rolled her eyes

"You still get mine" Derek laughed
