"Mother, did you know about Lord Renly's proposal?" Eve asked Catelyn as they were having breakfast."Yes, I did, Eve.Your father wanted to decline the proposal. You see, Lord Renly was....how do I put this?...he preferred the company of men".Eve knew certain men fancied other men."Oh.It's just that somebody in King's Landing told me about the proposal".Eve had been in a quagmire, not knowing whether she should tell her mother about Baelish's betrayal of her father.Hearing about his betrayal would hurt her even more than she already was.Has she not been through enough?.She had appeared so weak.Eve did not wish to lose her mother like she had lost her father."Mother, I should go see Robb, see if I can be made useful" Catelyn grabbed her hand."We are to leave in two days for your uncle Edmure's wedding. There is little you can do until then".Eve looked at her mother."There's a great deal I can do until then, sweet mother".

She strode towards Robb's tent, walking past Jaime."Hello to you too, Eve Stark" said Jaime. She stopped to acknowledge him"I must thank you for having them clean my cage" he smirked at her.She walked towards him."Now listen to me, Lannister" she growled, wagging a finger at him."It would do you good to be quiet.Know your place. You are a captive!".She stood before him."I only asked them to clean your cage because it would be a shame if you were to die of some disease.I'm only being kind to you because I have a sister who, unfortunately, is still in King's Landing.I am unaware of my other sister's whereabouts, but I take solace in the fact that she,at least, is not in the snake pit that is King's Landing.I will ask them to wash you as well. The smell coming from your cage is rather pungent".She walked away from Jaime.

"Your Grace, you must agree to this.Cersei did seem awfully distressed when Lord Tyrion said you had Jaime Lannister. She may give Sansa in exchange for him.Don't say no yet, Robb, it would be a grave mistake.Sansa is alone and scared there" Eve said. The Young Wolf paced the tent, looking at Lord Karstark and, Roose Bolton."But I've already made up my mind.I considered agreeing to their terms when I believed you, Arya and Sansa were all in King's Landing, now it's just Sansa who's their captive".That made Eve's blood boil, but she decided not to retort."Your Grace.Arya and I got lucky and we escaped, but I can't say the same for Sansa. She is naive and timid, unlike Arya and me.Cersei even said she may marry her off to Tywin or worse yet, even kill her. Now, Your Grace, is that something you would allow to happen?".Robb held Eve's gaze.Rickard Karstark began to speak."Princess Eve, the Kingslayer cannot be spared. He murdered one of my boys!.Did their lives not matter?".Eve did not say a word. The flap of the tent had been opened by none other than Catelyn Stark."What are the two of you talking about?" she said, taking a seat beside Rickard Karstark."About Cersei's terms.I'm asking His Grace to consider accepting her offer. The Lannister will go and Sansa will be returned to us, but it seems His Grace as well as  Lord Karstark are averse to the suggestion".Eve returned to her seat which was next to Roose Bolton."Princess Eve, how could we return the Kingslayer?.He has wronged the men of the North, he has killed our sons. How could we let such a man return to his home unscathed?" Lord Karstark seemed more livid, more frustrated this time.He is right, but then if we kill him, Sansa might be killed too. "What would you have us do then, Lord Karstark? Kill him? , so that Sansa might be killed too?.We all know how awful the Lannisters are.I know you are in pain, Lord Karstark.I am not disregarding your grief. You have every right to be angry. You are right to want Jaime Lannister dead, and I swear to you on my father's ashes that if Lady Sansa was not in King's Landing, I would swing the sword myself" she regarded Lord Karstark with a faint smile."Sparing him might save a life.Do you want my mother to go through the same thing you've been through?.Do you wish to add to her grief, my lord?".

The old man reflected for a moment and then chuckled.Robb, Catelyn and Eve threw each other perplexed looks."What seems to be so funny, Lord Karstark?.I am quite certain nothing I said was meant to make you laugh" Eve said."You've got eyes for the Kingslayer, haven't you?.You haven't spoken to him for two days and you want him between—".Robb slammed the table as hard he could, his face darkening with anger."LORD KARSTARK! HOW DARE YOU?" Robb shouted as loudly as his lungs allowed him.Talisa went to Eve, urging her to get up."No Talisa.I would very much like to remain in my seat" she whispered."HOW DARE YOU SPEAK OF YOUR KING'S SISTER THAT WAY?".The old Lord was startled."Your Grace, do take a seat" Eve requested coolly, as if she had not just heard what Karstark accused her of.As Robb sat back down, her green eyes bore into the old Lord."Lord Karstark.I assure you, I am not besotted with Jaime Lannister.Whatever you have accused me of wanting.." upon her face was a look of disgust."I assure you, your accusation is false.I will pardon you, Lord Karstark and I will urge my king brother to do the same.Grief can make us say and do things we do not mean. The reason I spoke to him is because he spoke to me first, and I wanted him to be washed and fed, so that a valuable prisoner like him may not die" she paced the tent, eyeing each of the lords that were present."A war began when Joffrey, the boy many are forced to call King, had Lord Eddard Stark executed. That little abomination could not even defend his own city when Stannis attacked it.He was hiding in the Red Keep.Tyrion was the one who did.Joffrey has no military experience, he knows not a jot about warfare, has no intellect. He may not be king for very long.I know him better than any of you do.The boy is no one any person with a backbone should be afraid of.We are meant to learn from our mistakes as well from the mistakes of others. They started a war when they did what they did to my father, and we will not execute a Lannister not while they have a northerner—my sister—in their castle" she stated, balling her hands so they would not shake."We need Jaime Lannister as a bargaining chip, and he's no use to us dead".
