"Lannister, how could your father say that?.I hope I am pregnant.I certainly hope I am with child" she said, throwing him an angry look."I will give you a child and then I can go hang myself".Jaime turned towards her, tucking a strand of Eve's brown, wavy hair behind her ear."I am doing this for Tyrion.Father might change his mind if he finds out I am not bedding you.Father wants you to give me an heir. The sooner you do, the better".He slipped out of bed, grabbing his breeches."Will he be here every night, Lannister?".He chuckled. He thinks this is funny. "I don't think he will be, but..I don't know, and stop calling me Lannister. You are to call me Jaime now".Eve's face contorted into a scowl."I can call you whatever I like.Go back to your sister and leave me alone" she said.He stared at her.
"What did you just say to me?" he demanded angrily, grabbing her wrist. She stared at him wide-eyed. Nothing I just said was untrue. "Let go of me, Lannister".His grip on her wrist grew even tighter."Or what? Just what will you do?.If you even speak of this to anyone, you're a dead woman.I love my sister, but not in the way you think I do". That's a laugh. "Okay, I won't, Lannister, just leave me alone".She pushed him away. I wish I could kill them all. "Litter the south with Lannister dead". My brother's words. He would have done it, had he not been killed. He sat beside her on the bed , fully clothed now."Why is it that everybody who hates me calls me the Kingslayer, but you don't..".Eve looked at him. "You rid us of the Mad King.If anything, I am grateful to you.He would have burned everybody to a crisp, had you not killed him".Jaime was stunned."There may be many vows you've dishonored, but killing that king was not one of them".A warm smile suddenly appeared on his face. He had to tell Brienne his story in order to convince her that he had done the right thing, but he was surprised at how Eve thought him not to be at fault, despite her dislike of his family. "What is it, Lannister?" she asked as he looked at her."Thank you, Lady Eve".She threw him a small smile."I am merely stating a fact. You don't have to thank me".He stared at her for a moment longer."I am sorry about my father.I know our marriage was arranged and neither of us consented to it, but I did not wish to take your maidenhead until you were comfortable.Do forgive me".

She shook her head."There's nothing to forgive. I know you did what you had to do for Lord Tyrion". I wonder where Sansa is at this very moment. I do hope she is safe. "I suppose I shall you call you 'my lord'.I can't call you Jaime. Not yet, at least".There was a faint smile on his lips. Her eyes trailed down to his golden hand."If you don't mind me asking, how did you lose your hand?".He seemed irritated by the question, but chose to answer it anyway."It's a long story, really".He realized he needed a drink to be able to tell the story, walking over to the table and pouring both himself and Eve some wine.He sat on the bed to her side, handing her the goblet of wine.Jaime looked at her intently.
"When your lady mother sent me on my way back to King's Landing, there were a few of Roose Bolton's men who accosted me and Brienne. They took us captive and tried to rape Brienne.I intervened and told them my father would pay them if they let us go and then when I thought they had agreed , one of the men—Locke—cut my hand off". Eve stared at him wide-eyed."I am so sorry, my lord" she said, a look of sympathy in her eyes."It was an honorable thing you did.To risk your life so that a woman's honor remains un besmirched".Jaime smiled at that. She took a sip of the wine, noticing the way he was looking at her."Is something the matter?".He shook his head, chuckling."No, it just feels good to be appreciated for once. All my life, people have condemned me for slaying the Mad King, dishonoring vows, and you...you haven't made me feel the way all these other people have. You haven't made me feel like some sort of monster".She shook her head."No.It's...I..my lord.I am appreciating you as any reasonable person would".He inched towards her, taking her hand."Thank you, my lady". Does he fancy me now? Or am I just to be his plaything until his sister decides to have him back in her bed?. Either way, I do not care, but I must be kind to him. I must gain his trust and it does seem to be working. "Yes, my lord. Has Lord Tyrion left for the Wall?.I would like to see him before he leaves".He looked at Eve."No, he hasn't left yet.He is making preparations to leave, however and of course, I shall take you to see him before he departs for the Wall". I shall use my charms to get Jaime to trust me. I must play the Game to survive. If I choose to be stupid and not cunning and calculating as most people in King's Landing are, I wouldn't survive. I won't die. The Stark name must live on and I'll pay a high price, to that end. I will do whatever it takes. "My lady, you seem to be lost in thought. Is everything all right?".She threw him an assuring smile."Everything's fine, my lord".He turned on his heel, above to leave when Eve spoke."Where are you going, my lord?".He turned back, confused as to why she would even care where he was going."To the other bedroom".She got up, walking towards him. "My lord, you can stay the night here".His eyes darted to the bed."In bed?".She nodded."It was difficult for me to get used to having a husband, my lord, but it is something that every married lady has to be accustomed to.I do apologize for behaving the way I did with you earlier and for the last week".He nodded."It is all right, my lady, and I will stay, if you'd like me to". I take it Cersei is still avoiding him. "It is your right, my lord, and my duty towards you". Eve blew out the candles and they both slept in the same bed.
