Eve loitered in the gardens, with two guards a few feet away from her. They were present to make sure she would not escape again.Eve wished to leave this wretched place. She smiled as she saw Sansa emerge from behind the shrubbery. The two of them greeted one another. The guards stared at them while they did."Oh, Sansa, my darling.Do tell me" she then lowered her voice to a whisper as she began to say "Is Lord Tyrion good to you?.I would congratulate you but given your predilection for knights, and men in handsome armor I surmised it would be best to refrain from doing so".Sansa wore a sad look on her face."Lord Tyrion has been kind.He did not touch me on our wedding night, and he said he never would, if I didn't want him to".Eve smiled at that.Say what you will about Tyrion, he is not a brute. "I am glad to hear that, sweet sister. He is kinder than most men". Sansa looked at her sister."Eve, I've got a plan—".She stopped speaking as soon as she spotted Margaery making her way towards them."What happened, Sansa?".Eve turned back to see Margaery.Seven Hells!.It's her again. "Margaery! How lovely it is to see you!".Eve said, forcing a wide smile upon her face."Oh Eve! Back just in time! I am to wed His Grace on the morrow!.Is that not splendid!"."Oh yes! Congratulations, Margaery!.I wish you and His Grace every happiness".Not. Margaery shot a wide smirk her way, linking her arm with Eve's."Shall we walk?".Margarey began to stride away from Sansa."Is there something you'd like to tell me, Margaery?".Eve glancing back at Sansa."No, my darling.I just wish to speak with you.I want you to be at the wedding. At my wedding".Eve seemed perplexed. They hardly let me come to these wretched gardens, how will they let me come to your wedding?. "Of course, Margaery. If they will allow me, I should be glad to see you in your wedding gown". Damn you, damn this entire place and damn your brat of a husband. "Please come with me, I would like you to pick a dress to wear to the wedding tomorrow".Eve glanced back at Sansa again."Could Sansa come with us?".That made Margaery pout."Well, if you don't mind Eve, I wish to speak with you alone.I rarely get to do so".But Sansa!.She wanted to tell me something. She said she had a plan. "Oh of course, how could I refuse the future Queen?".Eve said with a smile.Margaery lead Eve into the Keep and then into her chambers.
An array of silk gowns had been laid out upon the large canopy bed before Eve.They were of various colors; emerald green, gold, blue, navy blue, sky blue, and pink.Margaery smirked at her."So which of these gowns would you like to wear?".Eve glanced at the gowns, running her hand across each of them, the silk so smooth, it practically slipped through one's fingers."Margaery, aren't these gowns a bit too revealing?.I am aware the weather in Highgarden is quite forgiving, but I'm not accustomed to wearing gowns of this...particular style".The gowns all had plunging necklines and were without sleeves.Margaery smirked at her, patting her back."Oh, nonsense!.You're hardly in the North any more. You have to look your best!.Pick one to wear to the wedding. You can have the rest of these gowns as well".Eve was perplexed.Margaery had never been this nice to her since they were children.Eve thought it would perhaps be best to just accept the offer and thank her.Kindness had, after all ,been a rarity in King's Landing.Perhaps, it is not always wise to question one's motives. "Of course, Margaery.Thank you. You've been awfully kind to me".She was eyeing the dresses now, placing her finger on the navy blue gown.It reminded her of the kind of gowns she would don in the North, always being of a rather dark shade."Excellent choice!".Margaery said with glee."I'll have one of my handmaidens prepare the gown for you, my dear. Why don't you sit here with me?".Margaery said, motioning towards two chairs by the pillars. As Eve looked at the delicacies on the table, she sensed Margaret's gaze upon her."Is something the matter, Margaery?".Eve said to her, brushing a strand of hair away from her tired-looking face."Oh, dear Eve.Nothing.I just...I wish you and Loras could be wed.The two of you would make such a fine pair". Me and Loras?. Eve shot Margaery a melancholy smile."If you value your life, you wouldn't even think of such a thing, Margaery.I doubt that would be very wise".Eve whispered, sipping the tea before her."Asking for the hand of Eddard Stark's daughter, a man who is resented by all in King's Landing. You'd be making a grave mistake".The future Queen held her hand, throwing her a pitiful look."Oh, Eve.Do not speak this way.I love you and I want you and Loras to be together. You'd be away from King's Landing. You'd be—".Eve weakly raised her hand, indicating for her to stop."Margaery, I am flattered by the offer.Truly.But I'm afraid I've just lost all hope. All hope of ever being at peace and of being happy.I have lost my father, my brother and my lady mother. The only thing stopping me from slitting my wrists are my siblings".A sob began to collect in Eve's throat, causing her to lose all composure and break down right in front of Margaery. She covered her face."I do apologize, my lady, but I'm afraid I just don't have it in me anymore. The Gods know how much more I can endure.Perhaps, they are not done with me".Margaery knelt down beside her, wiping her tears."Don't cry, my love.Don't cry".She rubbed her arm."And besides".Eve began to say after a while."Lord Tywin has made me his ward.He will most likely refuse the match".The look that Margaery wore on her face indicated that perhaps she was not privy to this."Oh, well I am sure he will not object to the match.I'll speak with them.Don't worry".
