Jaime had returned to her chamber when Eve looked at him and said "Jaime.I think you should sleep in your chamber.I am restless most nights, and I toss and turn quite a bit".He closed the door behind him. "I don't mind, Eve" he said, running a hand through his short hair, not looking at her still."Cersei's told me to retrieve Mycrella from Dorne.Ellaria Sand has killed Prince Doran for not avenging her husband.Mycrella might be the next person she kills" he told her as he sat down on a chaise sofa in the chamber.Eve was very upset the day Oberyn Martell had been slain  by the Mountain in combat. It truly was tragic. She considered herself unfortunate to have witnessed the sheer horror on the paramour's face as the Mountain gouged her beloved's eyes out. "You are to leave, then, Jaime?" she said, moving towards him.He held her wrist, gesturing towards the empty space next to him on the sofa. She obeyed.

"Yes, Eve.Even if I just have one hand now, I still wish to do whatever I can to protect my family". Yes, you must protect your daughter. He briefly glanced at her stomach."I will be fine and so will the babe.".He shot her a warm smile, grazing a thumb over the corner of her lips."You're glowing" he noticed as he leaned in to steal a kiss from her lips."Don't.." she whispered as his lips hovered above hers."Don't what, hmm" he rumbled under his breath."I do not feel quite so well, Jaime.I'm afraid you will have to excuse me".He nodded, tucking a curtain of Eve's brown hair behind her ear. "Very well, then.I shall leave you to rest" he said, his gaze unwavering. Her cheeks grew red.She embraced him."Good bye, Jaime.Do make sure you get back safely".He inhaled her scent, wanting to kiss her, but he pulled away."I will".

A calmness settled over Eve as Jaime left for Dorne. She never quite knew what exactly drew Jaime towards her.He should have resented her as she did him, but he did not.He was forced into the marriage, but seemingly made his peace with the match. Eve never did. She hated that she was passed around like a rag doll from one man to the next. She still could not forget how she had been forced to wed Petyr Baelish and now it was Jaime she was married to. Petyr had protected her or made her believe so. She had rushed into the Throne Room, moments before The Master of Coin held a dagger to her father's throat and she saw him just as one of her father's men dragged her from the scene. She had never felt so betrayed, so cheated.

"I do hope Mycrella returns to us safe and sound. The paramour, that lunatic. She's killed Prince Doran, his son" Cersei said to Eve in her chambers."Yes, Your Grace. She might still be grieving but surely Ellaria killing Prince Doran would not have brought Lord Oberryn back.It was a trial by combat, either him or The Mountain had to die" Eve responded, hating herself for uttering the words."Smart girl.Of course, few people would understand the complexity of the situation" Cersei stated, looking down."or rather the simplicity of it" she added, arching an eyebrow.Eve nodded in agreement.

"Have you given any thought to settling at Casterly Rock?" Cersei asked after a few brief moments. Eve considered King's Landing nor Casterly Rock her home. She held Cersei's gaze.
"No, Your Grace. If we are to be friends, I shall like to stay where my friend is, yes?" she threw her a kind smile."Well, that is rather kind of you, Eve.I did not expect it from you". And you shouldn't. "Oh, but you should have. We're friends, aren't we?".

"Margaery and Tommen are to marry soon.My suspicions have been confirmed.Oh, how I detest that Tyrell whore" Cersei spat."My little Tommen.Seduced by that whore".Eve looked at her, not wanting to say anything horrid about Margaery."Why aren't you saying anything?.Are you a friend of Margaery's?".The question did make Eve a tad nervous since she was indeed fond of Margaery, but avoided speaking to the girl so as not to arouse any suspicion, of course."No, Your Grace.I barely know her.It is unfortunate how she seduced The King.Truly".

After Eve finished conversing with Cersei, she had been allowed to return to her chambers. It seemed rather peculiar to her that Cersei showed no desire to harm her and Jaime's unborn child."Lady Lannister" somebody had said.Eve for a second forgot that was her title, but turned her to see who had called on her.
"Lord Varys" she acknowledged him.He walked up to her."Might we talk?" he asked."Of course, Lord Varys".The pair ventured out into the garden."My lady, I also hear you are with child.Congratulations" he said, throwing her a warm smile."Thank you, my lord".They began to stroll together, side by side."I trust you are content with Lord Jaime as your husband" the Spider spoke, shooting her a sideways glance.
"Yes, I suppose I am.He is kind to me and does not shout at me or strike me, so I would say I am content" Eve answered honestly. She knew she could be transparent with Varys, even being the betrayer of secrets that he was.He was the one who helped her leave King's Landing and if he should ever betray her, she would make certain he went down with her as well and it was something Varys, too, knew."Good, my lady".Eve had noticed Petyr Baelish was absent from court. The last time she saw him was when Tyrion barged into their bed chamber."Lord Varys.Where is Petyr Baelish these days?" she asked."Oh, my lady.Don't you know?.He's married Lady Lyssa Aryn, your aunt". Oh Gods.
Eve could not help but be shocked at the news.
"What?!.How could he?!" she almost yelled, but then realized she had to lower her voice."First he weds me and then my aunt. This is...this is...words fail me now" she said, sitting down to digest the news she had been told."That man's ambition knows no end.I wonder what he will do next" Eve continued to speak candidly with Varys."He doesn't love her, you know. The man was only in love with my mother.Even when he married me, he saw it as a way of spiting my her".Varys just stared at her, wise enough not to utter a word.
