Chapter 46 - Mistletoe

Alina pov

I watch and securely hold onto her legs as she fixes the mistletoe right before the living room, "You promise me you won't get mad?"She hums with her tongue sticking out in concentration from the single task.

"You didn't buy anything illegal as my present right?"

"What no... I mean I got it from a shop I've never been in. And you would be overwhelmed with the many choices they had.", She looks down at me with confusion written over her face reminding me she still has that pure side of herself.

"What are you talking about?"

"You'll find out when you open it tomorrow.", She hums climbing down the ladder and kissing me traditionally under the symbol,"Now you're making it hard to tell you this important piece of information."

"Nothing stops you but yourself babe."

"Wise ass", She chuckles, grabbing a hold of my shirt and leading me into the kitchen.

"I sent your father to prison?" I try to watch her expression as best as I can as she goes to sit on one of the stools.

"Why is that a question? Are you unsure you did?" I cleared my throat feeling dry before leaving the position I was in to stand between her legs.

"No no the police were waiting for him as soon as he exited the building. I was trying to push off the authorities contacting you about what he did until I told you."

"Ok...", She starts playing with the hem of my shirt making me confused as to what she's feeling right now," Continue Alina."

"Alright, before even meeting your mom, which I found even weirder, Andrea stole from your great grandfather. Turns out the Lexy's had quite the fortune but your grandfather hid it so well that it was undiscovered until your father. I don't know what he did with the money, maybe he spent it all or something but he owes you a lot now."

"And you did this when?"

"Oh um- I-I talked to him the night of Alexander's party."

"And what have I told you about lying to me?" She pinches my cheek with a glare I've only seen a few times.

"But he also threatened Julia and I didn't want you to get worried- I- you- ok I'm sorry", She finally lets go and I hold the side of my face in a bit of pain.

"Thank you, I thought I was going to have to drag you kicking and screaming."

"Yea yea but I have another thing i hope you won't get mad at"

"Out with it, I already love it."

"I um- well it is his daughter too, so I had Levi help."

"Hmmm... I already knew. So, what do you want for dinner tonight?" She looks at me with an amused expression as I whack my own brain for questions.

"Hold on, you know!?"

"Oh sweet, sweet Alina.", She closed my mouth kissing me on my temple before speaking again, "I thought you would know by now not to tell my mother if you want it to be kept a secret from me. She literally told me about it just after you called her yesterday."

"She even says she 'approves' of you now; though you and I both know she already did when you bought that bracelet she wanted.", Oh yes i remember that day followed the best sex of my life later in the night, "Sophia also told me about Levi and how you fought for my pride which I just love you for."

"Does no one know how to keep things to themselves?"

"Nope, now onto more pressing matters, what kind of cookies do you want to set out for Ms. Claus?"

"What happened to Santa?"

"Oh they got divorced but ms. Claus found his own wife that makes delicious desserts. I even saw her delivering presents to our Christmas tree last night. Maybe I should teach her the art of sneaking around."

"Yea that might help or when i say stay in bed she should've done so instead of tracking after me."

"Well you know I don't always do as I'm told. And Merry pre-Christmas."

"I'm pretty sure that's not how that goes but I wish you one too and much more to come."
