Chapter Thirty Six

Amelia's POV

"Bye tia Andy" I say from inside the car once mamma has put me in my car seat.

"What else do you say to Andy?" Momma asks me.

"Oh yeah, thank you for letting me stay with you" I say to her.

"It's okay, you're welcome to stay over when ever" She tells me. "I hope you enjoy the rest of your day Amelia, and even though I helped, congratulations on your engagement Maya and Carina." She says to my mama's.

"Thank you Andy, for everything you have done over the last 24 hours." Momma says to her.

"It's no problem. Have a lovely day you three." And with that, Momma presses the button to roll up my window, and she begins to drive.

We drive past the building where we live which confuses me so I go and ask again, "Where are we going because we have gone past where we live?"

"We are going to see a friend Amelia, but that is all we can tell you right now. The rest you will find out when we get there" Momma tells me which makes me a little mad because I want her to tell me where we are going.

Arizona's POV

"Sofia, are you ready yet" I shout up the stairs to my 10 year old daughter who came home last week.

"Yeah, I'm ready" She says from the top of the stairs. "Mama bought me this dress, do you like it Mommy" She does a twirl at the top of the stairs.

"I love it Sof, now be careful twirling at the top of the stairs, I don't want to have to take you to hospital anytime soon" I tell her as she makes her way down the stairs.

"Okay mommy. Is Amelia going to be here soon?" She asks.

"I think so, Maya and Carina just had to go and get her from Maya's friends house then they were going to come over" I say to her.

"I hope Carina remembers me. I'm much bigger now than I was when I last saw her." Sofia says as she heads into the living room to sort out the couches so they are perfect. Sofia and Carina got on really well when I was dating her, but after we decide to end things mutually, Sofia hadn't seen Carina again. A big factor in this was that she moved back to New York to be with Callie, but also because she wasn't involved in Sofia's life anymore so it wasn't a requirement for her to see Sof anymore and I respected that. "Mom, can I ask you a question?"

"Yeah, go ahead."

"Does Amelia have a dad like me. Because I have two moms and she has two moms, and I have, well had a dad." She asks. We touched on Amelia's past a little but never into much detail about her biological family.

"Sof, I don't know. And it's not my place to talk about Amelia's biological parents. Maybe ask Maya and Carina when they come over because they are the people you should be asking these questions to." I tell her, knowing that Sofia is really understanding so she will not put pressure in for an answer from me.

"Ok" She says. "Can I get a juice box?"

"Of course you can." Just then, the door bell rings.

Maya's POV

We pull up outside Arizona's house and Amelia instantly knows where we are given the huge smile on her face I can see through the rear view mirror.

"IT'S ARIZONA'S HOUSE." She shouts.

"It is bambina" Carina says in response.

"Why are we at Arizona's house?" She asks while she unbuckles herself from her car seat.

"Well, there is someone that we would like you to meet." I tell her. "So, come on, lets get out the car." I get out of my side and open Amelia's door so she can get out. "Go hold mamma's hand please Mia."

"Okay momma" She jumps out from the car and takes hold of Carina's hand and we begin the walk down to path of Arizona's front yard. "Can I knock on the door"

"Yeah" Amelia knocks the door, surprising me with how loud she can knock. We don't wait long for Arizona to answer and as soon as the door opens Amelia gives her a hug.

"I missed you Arizona" She says, breaking the hug. "Momma said that I was going to meet someone. Is that right?"

"That is right, come in you three and then we can have you meet them" Arizona says to Amelia.

Amelia looks up at Carina seeking approval. "Go on bambina"

We all walk into Arizona's house and she tells us to go into the living room while she had to deal with something in the kitchen.

"Amelia" Arizona says, coming back to the living room. "I have someone that you will be very happy to finally see." Out from behind her comes Sofia and the look on our little girl's face is something that I don't think we will ever forget.

"SOFIA!" Amelia screams. "OH MY GOSH" She climbs off of Carina's lap and wraps her arms around Sofia. "Wait..." She unwraps her arms from around her. "In school they taught us what to do when we meet people for the first time." She holds her hand out to Sofia. "Hi, I'm Amelia-Grace Walker, but you can just call me Amelia" We watch as Sofia shakes her hand.

"I'm Sofia Robbin Sloan-Torres. It's lovely to meet you Amelia. Let's be best friends" Both girls giggle and Amelia nods her head making them giggle more.

"Do you girls want to go and play for a little so us grown ups can talk" Arizona says to the pair of brunettes.

"Okay" They both respond and run up the stairs.

Amelia's POV

Sofia and I are having lots of fun together, talking about anything and everything. We are the best of friends.

"Amelia" Sofia says as if she is about to ask a question. "I asked my mom this, but she said that it wasn't her place to say and that I had to ask you or Maya or Carina. But do you have a dad."

I didn't expect her to ask that question. I haven't really thought about my dad in a while just because he has been out of my life for so long now. "Well I..." I start but Sofia starts to talk again.

"And I only want to know, because you are just like me. We both have two moms. Only I have, well had, a dad. He died when I was really little after a plane crash. My mom got hurt in the crash too, but my mama worked really hard to keep her alive and she's all better now." She tells me and it makes me relate to Sofia that little bit more, but I can't talk to Sofia about it when I am by myself.

"I erm..." I stand up and start to make my way out of Sofia's room. "Come... I need momma a-a-a and mamma" I run down the stairs, holding back a few tears as memories of me and my dad start coming to the front of my head.

"Who's that coming down the... Amelia." Arizona comes out of the living room, looking at me right in the eye. "Are you okay, come here" I walk down the stairs where Arizona is waiting. She picks me up and takes me into the living room, passing me to momma. Sofia follows us through and she goes to sit with Arizona. She starts to whisper to Arizona something but I turn my face into momma's chest, tugging at her shirt a little and laying my legs on mamma's lap. Momma running her fingers up and down my back, very gently to calm me down a little

A couple minutes pass when Arizona starts talking. "Sofia was telling me that she asked Amelia a question and it made her upset so while she doesn't want to force an answer out of her, she is curious about Amelia's dad."

"I don't think, given how she has reacted wants to talk about it. I mean, we don't even know about her dad so maybe lets leave the question for another..." I cut momma off.

"He died" I say quietly, but loud enough for the room to go silent. I wait a moment to see if momma or mamma say anything but they just look at each other then look at me. "He died when I was 3 and he was super nice to me. My mommy was too but after he died, that's when she got mean a-a-a and would hurt m-m-me."

Late night updates, but I have had this chapter half done since I last updated, I just wasn't happy with how it ended...
