Guys I literally cannot stand writing verbs with an 's' at the end, I really prefer the 'ed' at the end and I also really prefer using the word 'said' instead so that's how I'm going to write.
ANGELIQUE LE
We were on a boat, similar to the one that we escaped on back in the whole bookstore incident. A gray lake stretched below, gray clouds covered the sky. We were all leaning over the railing, the environment wasn't really helping to lighten the mood.
Claire set her book on the railing, "Do you think Merlin's plan will work?"
Douxie put the time map onto the railing, "I messed up the timelines. We've run out of options, and my choices haven't exactly worked out lately. We can't make any more mistakes. We have to trust Merlin this time."
"I just hope Jim made it out safe." Claire said.
"I'm sure he's nestled safely in the bosom of friendly trolls." Douxie reassured her.
I tried to lighten the mood a bit, I created a water figure of a dolphin. It leaped out the water and followed our ship.
Claire smiled a bit, "Is this your way of consoling people?"
I created two more dolphins, baby ones. They swam side by side like a dolphin family.
"Cool!" Steve said, "What else can you make?"
"Anything, name something." I replied.
Steve thinks about it for a moment then said, "Me, fighting crime and saving a damsel in distress." He threw some punches in the air for the effect.
We all laughed, Steve put his hands on his hips, "What?!"
When we don't answer Steve harrumphed and left us. I lost my concentration on the dolphins though when we enter a large cave, the lake still trailing ahead. Its dark and has a musty smell, I immediately decided I don't like it.
Claire opened her book again and flipped through the pages. I looked over her shoulder and saw the same page she was looking at back in Merlin's tower. Suddenly the book glows green and floated out of her hand.
"Ah, if you've learned anything from Morgana, it should be that shadow magic leads only to pain." Merlin made the book snap shut and it fell back into her hands.
There was that look on her face again, I wanted to yell at Merlin for making the situation worse. Here I was trying to convince her that shadow magic didn't define her, that it depended on what she chose to do with it but Merlin was telling her the complete opposite. Now was not the best time to convince her though.
I started to notice the shipwrecks on the side of the cavern. "Huh," I said, "It's like a..."
"Ship graveyard." Steve finished for me.
"We've arrived." Merlin announced.
"Huh. The Lady of the Lake is real! I thought she was just a myth." Claire said.
Douxie went over to her, "Oh, no, the Lady's very much real. Though, only Merlin's allowed to meet with her... until now."
Merlin steered the boat towards the rocky shore, "Because her power is beyond your comprehension. It was from her mystic waters I helped Arthur first retrieve Excalibur and unite the kingdom."
Archie sprouted his wings and flew towards the sunlight peeking through the cavern roof.
We got off the boat and followed Merlin to stone wall with two stone faces carved into it.
