Episode 2

Tommy wiped the front counter of the café, like the king he is. He was epically swiping the yucky dirt away. This shit was going to be cleaner than Badboyhalo (—His nickname for the owner of the muffin shop down the corner—) 's vocabulary. Shroud sat on Tommy's shoulder, being adorable. He had to try very hard to convince Phil to let him keep Shroud. But all Big T had to do was give him the puppy eyes, and then Phil was his bitch.

Mans was going ham on this counter. The bacteria was actually quivering in fear. Techno was out today, so he was in charge of being the best barista ever. He was amazing. He should just be the poster boy for the café at this point.

"Ahem."

Tommy looked up to see a woman with blonde hair and a terrible haircut standing in front of him, arms crossed.

"Ayup." Tommy blinked.

She looked shocked at the response to her stance. "What is an 'ayup'? And why have you taken so long to respond to me?- IS THAT A FROG?"

Tommy glanced at Shroud. "Yeah it is. He's my son. Daughter? I don't know their pronouns or gender, actually. No idea how to tell. I suppose I should use they/ them until I know, though." Tommy pet Shroud with one finger and the frog leaned to his touch.

The woman looked disgusted. "Is that allowed in a restaurant establishment? It's dirty and gross."

Tommy took offense to that. "Look lady, Shroud may be a bit dirty, but they are not gross!"

The woman, who Tommy has decided to dub with the name 'Karen' placed her bag on the counter. She looked like someone named Karen.

Karen resumed her crossed-arm-pose and started to get impatient. "I'm going to make my order. And you are going to remember it. Of course, you are just a kid, and you are most likely going to mess it up." She rolled her eyes. "No- you know what? Go get another employee. I don't want to deal with you."

Tommy gasped. That's it. No more NiceInnit. He rolled up his sleeves, and set Shroud on the counter. "OK BITCH. FIRST OF ALL: I AM NOT A KID. SECOND OF AL—"

Tommy was held back from swinging his fist at the shocked lady by Wilbur. He must have walked through the back door at the wrong time.

"Did you see that! He tried to attack me!" She played the victim. "I've been assaulted! Someone call the cops! Get the manager!" She faked a pained expression even though she wasn't hit. (Thanks, Wilbur. Dickwad. We were so close to revenge. Tommy rolled his eyes.)

"Ma'am, I'm going to need you not to make a scene. Hello, I'm Wilbur, and I'll try to take care of your order from here. Sorry about Tommy, he's a little, hot headed." Wilbur smiled at Karen, still confining a struggling Tommy.

"There's no need, sir." She winked and Wilbur became uncomfortable very quickly. "Let me speak to the head of the establishment."

"Ma'am, he's busy, and I'm sure he wouldn't like to be—"

"Nonsense! Bring him out right now, or I'll call the police on the boy for harassment!"

Wilbur groaned and took Tommy by the arm. Tommy grabbed Shroud and pocketed them as Wilbur pulled him to Phil's office.

"PHILLLLLLLLL" Tommy whined while swinging open the office door. Phil looked up from paper work in confusion at the two boys in front of him.

"What's wrong, mate?"

Wilbur stepped in front of Tommy. "There's someone at the front counter requesting assistance."

Phil sighed and followed the two towards the front counter.
