A blond-headed child drew on his white sheet of paper in front of the TV. He was no more than 5 or 6. The red crayon ran across his page in small circles. The television blared his favorite show. He always played it when his brothers weren't there.

or when his father wasn't there,

mentally.

The boy laughed as he watched the main character do something. The blond always thought of himself as the main character in the show. He used to drag his father into the room, point at the tv, and go:

"Look, dad! It's me! Look what I'm about to do this time!"

But his father would always take another swig of his bottle and sit down in the armchair. He would always mumble something and ignore the bouncing child on the ground.

he missed his brothers.

Yes. The kid smiled, because he had found home in the television in front of him. And he ignored the empty bottles and smashed glass behind him.
