Long Road Ahead

Chapter 15- top of the world

"Why won't you sing for me!" Jackson whines taking a bite of his food. "Because we are in public." I laugh taking a sip of my lemonade. I convinced Jackson that I get to take him to chick-fil-a for lunch instead of some fancy place. "But you'll have to sing for people all around the world." He says.

"Yeah but that's differant." I say throwing a fry at him and steal one from his tray to make mine one more instead of one less. What? I like the fries here. Actually love. DON'T TOUCH MY BABIES! Yeah, yeah that's a little overboard but hey live a little.

I look around the place and see tons of kids from school. Some I reconize and some not so much. The school I go to is based on what social group you are in. "Populars with populars" "nerds with nerd." Why do we put a label on people? I sigh and then get a bright idea. Hopefully.

"Jackson can you help me with something?" I ask. "Yeah anything." He replies shoving some fries into his mouth. I just laugh and explain my plan to him. It's gonna take some convincing of the others but Jackson decided it would be a great idea and we would talk to others.

"Why are we here Nova?" Emmi asks plopping down on my sofa. "Just wait." I laugh sitting the pizza that was delivered on the coffee table. "Can I atleast get some pizza?" She asks. "Yes.....but don't eat it all." I say walking to the kitchen.

"No promises." She calls after me. I chuckle and grab the paper plates and some cups and drinks from the fridge. "Why are you always the first one here?" I ask sitting the stuff down and hand her a napkin. "Because of all the free food?" Emmi says more like a question. "You're so weird." I say with an eye roll and sit down next to her and grab my phone.

After thirty minutes of dance dance revolution and eating pizza no one still has shown up beside Jackson. "I guess I'll do a group text and see where everyone is." I say standing up.

Group Messege: Karina, Acey, hunty, GarGar, Colby cheess, Drew, Cole.

Me: Wei hai baes. Uh where are y'all I told you to be at my house at 4:30 it's five now?

15 minutes

karina: I swear i'm on the way. I got tied up with my little brother. 😒
Drew: That's today? I thought.... Well dang i'll be there in five.
Karina: You're an idiot Drew.
Me: Now, Now children behave.
Hunty: I'm almost there I was busy.
Acey: Oh..... Be there in ten.
Colby Cheese: I'm on the wat from the town over I should be there by 5:25.
GarGar: I'm here. I have just been sitting in my car texting this girl.
Drew: Not as much as You Karrriiinnnaaa.

I laugh and my smile faulters when Cole does not reply. Maybe he is just really busy. I can't deal with him right now I have to order more pizza thanks to Jackson and Emmi. That girl. That boy also. My concious throws in.

I order six more pizzas and walk back to the den where the dancing is taken place. "You look like an idiot." I laugh at Jackson. "Well you try going against a freakin' proffesional dancer." He whines falling onto the floor. I burst into laughter. "Are you okay." I weeze through laughs.

"Oh haha I could have broken my butt!" He yells rubbing the back of his thigh. "That's your thigh smartie." Emmi snickers. "I know that, it's what is hurting." He say throwing candy at her. I laugh at the two of them and sit back down on the sofa.

After a few minutes Karina, Hunter, Drew, and Ace show up. They decide to join in on the dance off and I sit on the sofa. Still no reply from Cole.

I hear a knock on the door and run to it and open it. Garrison and Colby have Cole tied up and toss him into the house. "Oh my gosh!" I cry rushing to him and pull the ropes off of his wrist. "Well we got him here for you." Garrison says.
