Today was Saturday and you had planned on having a lazy day and doing basically nothing. At the moment it was 2pm and you were still in bed even though you had woken up at 11. You had your headphones plugged in and was listening to the fray how to save a life. Headphones were your life and you would travel no were withouth them. You constantly had them plugged into your ears which was one thing that your mom most hated. She said it sets you aside from society and doesn't let you see the beauty in things but in reality it helps actually.
I finally decided to not just lay in bed all day even though you were having a lazy day. I went into the bathroom did my buisness and changed into light washed jeans a white tank top with a jean jacket over That with my black vans and put my hair in a high ponytail. I then made my way downstairs to the kitchen where my mom had been reading the newspaper with a coffee mug in her hand.
"Morning mom looks like I'm not the only one who slept in." you said smirking wrapping your earphones around your phone.
"Yea I was a little lazy today and just decided to sleep in." she replied sipping her coffee.
"Same here mother so what's for Breackfeast?" You asked taking a seat on the chair folding your hands on the table.
"There's cereal and milk." she said almost as a question, "I just made some coffee there's some left if you want?" She asked.
"Nah I'm good." I sighed "well I'm going back upstairs see you later." you said getting up leaving the kitchen but before you got up to the stairs your mom called after you.
"Y/n wait are you just going to go upstairs and lock yourself in your room for the rest of the day and listen to music?" She asked walking towards the stairs stopping were you were standing and putting her hands on her hip cocking an eyebrow up.
"No I'm gonna go upstairs listen to music and watch netflix." You said correcting her With a smirk on your face.
"Or you could clean your room?" She suggested
"Nah I'll pass." you said heading up the stairs again but was once again stopped.
"Nope not so fast y/n....today you are going to spend the whole day out of the house young lady I read in the paper technology is preventing kids from socializing and getting enough exercise." she said ranting about how I spend too much time on my phone. "Hand over your phone." she said with her hand out.
"But mom I end this.... it's my life!" I held it up to my chest emphasizing on my point.
"And now your life is going to resume outside at the zoo or something." she said taking my phone and pushing me towards the door.
"Wait your kicking me out!!" I shouted
"Oh don't be a drama queen your lucky I'm letting you come back for lunch." she said opening the door.
"Is is too late to clean my room?" I asked
"Goodbye y/n." she said closing the door in my face
"How rude!" I mumbled to myself.
I sat on the door step for a while until I decided to get up and take a walk to our local park and watch the birds or something. I ended up sitting on a bench for a while but then decided to lay down on the grass and watch the clouds. I started to look at the sky and try and find funny shaped in the clouds. I ended up finding a cloud that resembles a dragon. One that looked like nemo. And one that looked like a dinosaur wearing a top hat. That one was so random I actually ended up giggling over it.
"What's so funny." someone said sitting down next to me looking over at me.
"Oh nothing." I said sitting up dusting myself off.
"Well I'm Matt." the stranger said holding his hands out. I then looked towards him face to face and let me tell you he was breathtaking. I think I was staring because he was waving his hands in my face.
"Hey you okay?" He asked giggling a bit.
"Uhh yea uh I'm y/n." I said sticking my hand out introducing myself.
"Nice to meet you." he said smiling still holding into my hand. I looked down towards our hands and he seemed to notice because he pulled away and said
"Sorry." scratching the back of his head
"No problem." I giggled turning 50 shades of red.
"So what were you giggling about earlier?" He asked
"Ohh nothing really it's just that I was looking at the clouds and one of then looked like a dinosaur wearing a top hat." you said smiling.
"Well that's not something you see everyday." he said laughing showing his unbelievably beautiful smile you had ever seen. You could look at that all day long.
"Soo.." he said awkwardly looking out to the sky.
"Do you have headphones?" You suddenly asked out of nowhere.
"Yea never leave without 'em."
"Same here" you smiled "you have a phone."
"Of course it my life." he said you laughed remembering those were the exact same words you said to your mother.
"You want to listen to music?" You asked
"Why not." he said pulling out his headphones and his phone plugging it in and giving you the right while he had the left. You both then laided down in the grass and began listening to music until it was dark outside.
"Well I have to go." you said getting up dusting yourself off.
"It was nice meeting you y/n" he said smiling
"Same here" you said
"Bye Matthew"
"Bye Y/n"
For the first time in forever music wasn't on your mind but a stranger who shared headphones with you.
