(Dark Pit's POV)

I burst through the doors of the balcony that lead back into the library and started shouting to get the attention of the search party. "GUYS, GUYS!!!"

There weren't that many people in the library, but everyone who was there gave me the shut-up look. I remembered I had dropped the book before diving into the woods, and found it, going back to the search party. Pit rushed up the stairs, with Lady Palutena right behind him, followed by Viridi and Arlon.

"What is it, Dark Pit?" Lady Palutena rushed towards me, looking hopeful. A part of me knew she had gotten her hopes up, and I wasn't the person to bring them down that day.

"Here it is." I held up the book where the group could see. "The Tales of Greek Gods and Goddesses."

"Hu, it shocked me when the human did something useful, but this is even more shocking," she laughed loudly. (Y/n) always seemed to be a part of her jokes and it was uncalled for.

"HEY! Don't make fun of (Y/n) too!" Pit-stain was quick to call her out.

"Whatever you say, you hole-in-the-ground," the goddess unapologetically retorted.

-

We all sat around the table in the meeting room as Lady Palutena started flipping through the chapters until she found something that she deemed helpful. "The Wish Seed."

"Wait, didn't Hades say that wish seed didn't exist?" Pit interrupted. "He used it as a decoy to get humans to go to war with each other, so the souls would gather and be turned into monsters!"

"Pit, just let me read through the stories. Maybe the humans saw more than we gods did," Lady Palutena suggested with a smile. "We can start with this chapter first chapter."

(Author's POV)

It was a stormy evening in the town of Kairo, and the troops marched onto the battlefield one foot after the other. The chant of our nation followed the steps in unison with the drums. The march for the Wish Seed had begun. Clouds filled the sky and wetted the land with rain, with an occasional streak of lightning.

"Troops, CHARGE!!!" yells the commander at the very top of his lungs, and the two troops from different cities collided. This was all for some seed that would supposedly grant a wish.

Unlike everyone else, I didn't believe such a thing. For my wish was impossible to grant, even if the seed really did grant wishes. But that wasn't important now, all I needed to focus on was getting out of the battlefield alive and back to my family.

Stabbing someone through the stomach, I watched as they fell to the ground in my peripheral vision, turning to the next challenger. I made quick work of him and continued to fight. It had taken so much energy out of me in fighting that I lost sight of what we were even fighting for. Why was I here? Why was anyone here? What could be worth so many lives? What was even happening?

     That's when it happened.

I felt something slash my back, causing me to tumble to the ground. It hurt... more than I ever could have imagined. My mind was all over the place and cold sweat ran down my face along with the rain. Then I heard loud shouts from above. With all the strength I could muster, I flipped myself on my back.

"MEDUSA! YOU DON'T WANT TO DO THIS," a man's voice boomed. It was the same voice that had been telling us to fight over the wish seed.

"I'M TAKING IT, AND YOU WILL NEVER GET TO IT!" a woman's voice was the next thing that followed.

"AND WHERE WOULD THAT BE?" he asked.

"BELLOW ZEUS'S CASTLE! NOT EVEN HE WILL KNOW IT'S THERE! YOU BOTH WILL NEVER GET IT, FOR HE WON'T KNOW AND HI'LL NEVER LET YOU IN!!!" the woman screamed back and disappeared.

All I could hear was the man's booming voice cursing her name as I shut my eyes, letting darkness take over.

To my surprise, I opened them again, sunlight shining in my eyes. I was in my comfortable bed, surrounded by my wife and kids celebrating my arrival back into consciousness and the real world. I was so happy to see them.

But I will never forget what happened that day, or what the gods above me said.

(Dark Pit's POV)

"Wait! It was under Zeus's castle the entire time?!" Pit yelled in astonishment.

"He should really clean out his basement once in a while," Viridi commented, and we all nodded. That was going to be one messy downstairs, to say the least.

(AN: I'm super busy with school so I'm trying not to push myself with so much extra work. Also, It's my birthday tomorrow, and I just wanted to say thanks for the support. It's the best gift EVER!!!)
