IRA POV

"You have a motorbike." Wanda said adjusting my hoodie that draped over her smaller frame which I gave her so she didn't have to stay in her suit when we go to the store.

"Is that a problem?" I asked amused as I watched the slight fear in her eyes, as reassurance I grabbed her hands and pulled her to me, "no, no problem." Wanda said eyeing my bike.

"You're an avenger whose scared of a motorbike?" I asked smirking and she rolled her eyes before gesturing for me to get on.

I did and watched in the side mirror as she got on and placed the helmet over her perfect head. She gripped my waist tightly but I moved her hands so they wrapped around me.

I pulled the throttle back and eased through the gears clicking my foot up to third gear. I felt Wanda relax against my back, she gazed at all the building whizzing past us.

"Why did you slow down?" Asked Wanda as I eased the throttle forward, "we we're going over the limit." I said turning left onto the grocery store street.

"I'm an avenger if you get a ticket I'll get you out of it." Wanda said confidently in a joking manner, "you'd do that... for me." I asked jokingly hand over my heart as we pulled into the stores parking lot.

As I unlocked the store door and flicked on the lights Wanda wrapped her hands around me and waddled with me to the intercom.

"...and bam." I said as I let music play on my phone projecting through the speaker. "Johnny cash?" Wanda asked and I shrugged my shoulder "I like barnyard." I reasoned as 'I won't back down' played, "barnyard?" Wanda asked and I exaggerated my reaction "you've never seen barnyard, you haven't lived." I said as I sat on the cashiers check out table thing.

"I can't believe we've only known each other for 3 weeks, it feels like I've known you since forever." I breathed out as I lied down on the conveyor belt luckily it's not turned on.

"Remember our first date, in Neil's music shop." Wanda said copying my actions and lying on the conveyor belt to my left.

I nodded not really wanting to talk about Neil. "What was that?" Wanda asked sitting up and looking at me curiously, I sat up too and looked at her confused,

"What was what?" I asked looking around, "your mind, I usually can't read it but when I said Neil your mind waves flickered." She said walking over to me.

"My mind waves flickered?" I asked scoffing hoping she wouldn't push, but of course she did. "You are lying about something...tell me." She said stalking closer, "I'm not lying." I said in surrender .

She just stared at me flaring her nostrils, "ok..ok I lied." I said jumping off the conveyor belt and grabbing her shoulders but she nudged me off slightly.

" I didn't just randomly discover Neil's shop on our first date, Neil is like my father." I said with a slight smile and gauged her reaction.

"He's your dad?" Wanda asked but I shook my head no, "no he took my twin brother and I in when we got here 11 years ago when we were 7." I said and Wanda relaxed and nodded her head walking along the aisles gesturing me to follow her.

I complied, "where were your parents?" Wanda asked and I winced slightly at the memory. Do I tell the truth? I know the truth would make her relate to me more and feel connected but it's risky.

I decided just to tell the truth, "my parents were junkies who used to hit us and each other, one day the house caught on fire from their cigarette and I woke up to them screaming as they ran out the front of the house leaving us behind but not the heroin. I grabbed Roy my twin and ran out the back, I saw an opportunity for a better life, we stayed in the streets of London and worked hard we had 3 jobs each and once we got enough money we came to the US and wandered the streets for weeks until we came across Neil's music shop, Neil took us in and helped us since then."
