The Cloaked Man
.Filch glided up the stairs, tightening the Invisibility Cloak around him. Screams and curses flung around him. It would do no good to be spotted before it was time.
He maneuvered around the countless battles taking place around him, careful not to be hit with a stray spell. Signs of a struggle up a head reached him. If memory serves, this was the battle that he was looking for. It was definitely a new experience to view the battle first hand instead of through Hermione's memories.
Up ahead of him were two Death Eaters. Their opponents were two gangly redheads and behind them were three younger students, another gangly redhead, a boy with black hair and glasses, and a girl with brown curly hair that resembled that of a lion's mane. Soon, everything will fall into place.
One of the Death Eaters shot off a spell. It hit the wall, causing the wall and parts of the ceiling to crumble, scattering the group.
Filch quickly made his way to the people. He shot off two rapid fire killing curses at the immobile Death Eaters before making his way to a fallen redhead.
"Fred, wake up." He shook the Weasley boy awake.
"Who's there!" Fred demanded as he blindly searched for his wand. Filch revealed his face to the scared boy. "You!" Fred shouted hoarsely.
"Me," Tom, in his Filch form, laughed. "Fred, would you like to play one last joke?"
"Now? Are you out of your bloody mind! We're in the middle of a war!"
Grunts and moans sounded around them. It looked as if time was almost up. The stranger pulled out a potion bottle from a hidden pocket. He waved it in front of the trouble maker. "You sure? Take this and I'll guarantee that your family will survive."
"How're you gonna do that?" Fred questioned.
Filch sighed. He should have known this wouldn't be easy. He shoved the potion at the boy. "It's Dumbledore's will. Now take the bloody drink and I promise you'll pull a prank like never before on your mother." He needed to hurry up and save his favorite student, Hermione not included, before his Hermione finds out he was gone.
"On mum?" A devious smile came to Fred's lips. "Got yourself a deal." The boy chugged the potion down in one gulp. "What does it-" Fred Weasly fell silent. His eyes stared unseeing up at the ceiling. To the world, the boy appeared to be dead. The only sign that the boy's spirit had not left the world was the smile splayed on his lips.
Filch pulled the cloak back up around him. His task was completed. It was now time to return before he was missed. It was time to meet Hermione to save their last person. Hopefully, she will like the surprise that will raise back from the dead later.
A Twist
Mrs. Norris hopped over debris and dead bodies in an attempt to find one Remus Lupin and Tonks. She had snuck away from Filch in an attempt to save Harry's family. She found what she was looking for.
Lupin was in the middle of battling Antonin while Tonks was up against Bellatrix. Mrs. Norris felt her hair stand on end and her tail go stiff. She really hated Bellatrix Lestrange.
With a small, wandless spell that she had learned to do while in her cat form, she sent two rapid stun spells toward Lupin and Tonks. The two collapsed toward the ground with their hands reaching for each other.
Bellatrix let out a laugh and hopped up and down in excitement.
"Don't celebrate yet," Antonin told the crazy woman. "They went down too easily." He stepped closer to the bodies. Mrs. Norris felt her blood run cold. He absolutely could not check them!
Right before Antonin or Bellatrix could reach the bodies to check for a pulse, a spell shot out at them. The Death Eaters and Mrs. Norris turned as one. Three seventh year witches had their wands raised.
Mrs. Norris took the opportunity that arose and dashed forward. While everyone was distracted, she clawed open the vial in her mouth and poured its contents into Lupin and Tonk's mouths. It was a potion that allowed the drinker to appear dead. She wasn't sure why Filch had it in his possession, but she saw an opportunity to put it to good use.
The Bat
"There you go," said Filch as he sat Severus up. The wound on his neck was nicely healed thanks to Filch getting there in time.
He ran a quick diagnostic on the man. All venom was out of his system. It was a good thing that he had snuck some potion into Severus' last drink that fought all types of snake venom for up to twenty-four hours.
Mrs. Norris let out a meow. "He'll be fine. We just need to get him somewhere safe for now."
His love put a paw on Severus' leg and Filch apparated them to the safe house.
"It's about bloody time!" Moody yelled upon their arrival.
"Can we join the battle now? I hate that I've been away from my godson for so long. I have to make sure he is safe."
Filch glared at the two annoying men. How in the world could anyone put up with these two?
"You both are staying here," Filch said coldly. "Severus here, will let you know when it is time for you to leave." He turned a hard stare onto Sirius. "Your godson will be fine but you cannot interfere."
Sirius hung his head low, already knowing why he could not interfere in the battle or leave the safehouse for that matter. Filch and Mrs. Norris had already explained to the two about the events that were to happen and how they were supposed to happen.
"So...we babysit the bat?" Sirius asked dejectedly.
Filch picked up Mrs. Norris. "He should wake up soon," was his departing words before he apparated back to the battle.
