At The HotelThe horses' hooves clucked along the cobblestone road as they took me farther away from home. My suitcase constantly jumped and jittered beside me in the carriage. Several boxes took up the rest of the seat at the back with a few occupying the front where the driver sat as well.
I stared yonder out the window as the marketplace slowly faded out of view and transitioned into an endless row of trees. Rain pelted at the tiny windows of the carriage, and there were barely any other people on the road. I don't blame them, Utharia's rain was relentless.
When the carriage came to a slow stop and the driver, Do Won, announced my arrival, I ducked my head a little to try and see through the sheets of rain.
Miss Nari's Hotel flashed in bold red letters at the front of the short yet wide building I'd be residing in for the next month. I opened my umbrella as I stepped out of the carriage. I took a deep breath in of the refreshing rain air. Troublesome or not, it did provide for some comfort.
Anyways, here I am - Rosity. The city of entertainment and home to Utharia's annual country fair just further up the city.
Father sent me here as a representative for the family business, Lee's Tailoring Co., and to prepare our stall for the fair that was to take place at the end of my month's stay at Miss Nari's hotel.
Miss Nari was a good friend of Father's and he assured me I'd be in good hands. That much I knew but another part of the reason I was sent here (although left unspoken, I could tell) was so that Father could throw more parties, drink more glasses of that terrible champagne he's ever so fond of, and sleep with more newly divorced women with one less child nagging at him to stop his foolish behavior. Ji A, my older sister, could do however much she could to keep him in check but ever since the divorce, it's seldom he ever takes orders from a woman.
Either way, I'm here now and I have to make sure I set a good image for the business despite my lack of interest. If I don't, I'll be getting more than a dagger to the chest.
"Mister Lee," a voice called from up ahead. I saw that Do Won was waiting outside as well to take out my suitcase alongside the boxes.
A short man with striking blonde hair in a bell hopper's classic red and gold outfit approached me, carrying his own umbrella. He was rolling over a covered luggage trolly. He bowed deeply and introduced himself as Hwan Woong. He was to be my personal bell hopper for the duration of my stay.
He and Do Won worked together to move my things into the trolly with both declining my offer to help. Afterwards, Hwan Woong led me inside the hotel. I thanked and bowed to Do Won before following in the bell hopper's pursuit.
Hwan Woong moved to pass through the revolving doors but seeing as the trolly wouldn't fit through, I held open the regular door next to them for him. I gestured for him to go on in first. He bowed slightly and thanked me, seeming somewhat embarrassed.
It was confusing at first but soon the puzzle pieces clicked together in my head. Father probably made a ruckus that his son was coming up to Rosity and most likely scolded the staff into treating me like a king. Funny for he himself never did anything of the sort.
I shook the thoughts off as I entered after Hwan Woong.
Miss Nari's hotel was no less than what I imagined it to be with its lush velvet carpeted staircases, polished mahogany floors, grandiose chandeliers, and a high-rise ceiling displaying all five floors of the hotel.
"Mister Lee," Hwan Woong addressed me, hand politely to his chest as he spoke.
"Please, call me Seo Ho," I asked of him. He seemed taken aback by my request.
