I stirred awake the next morning, unable to shake an eerie feeling of someone watching me. I was relieved to find it was just him, but it was still unsettling all the same. Before I could think of a question to ask him, he spoke.

"You're so beautiful."

I blinked. "Hm?"

"Has anyone ever told you that? You're so beautiful," he repeated, reaching a hand up to gently comb his fingers through my hair.

I didn't know how to respond because truth be told, no, no one's ever said anything like that to me. Therefore, with a lack of sweet compliment experience, I bowed my head sheepishly as a furious blush overtook my cheeks.

"Just like I remembered you to be all of those years ago." My head snapped up to him as my eyes grew larger. I gaped at him for a good moment, scrutinizing his face to see if he was being genuine. The look in his eyes gave me that confirmation.

"Y-you remember me?" I stuttered, feeling like the weight of a thousand past regrets had been lifted off of my shoulders.

He nodded thoughtfully. "I remembered you the second you walked into the room. I could never miss those eyes." He ran the pad of his thumb underneath my right eye.

All of a sudden, a laugh burst through my lips. Loud and bright. I clasped a hand over my mouth, trying to suppress the next. Maybe this is what it must feel like to be full of joy as the expression goes. He smiled along with me before I said sincerely,

"I'm really glad I found you again."

"I'm glad I found you again too."

We stayed there in silence for a while. The weather appeared to be gloomy outside for my room was still quite dark, however it didn't matter because for once, the dark didn't seem so scary anymore.

"I do miss your black hair though. The orange is nice, but you looked so sexy with black," he admitted shamelessly, and I couldn't help but guffaw.

"I'm being serious!" he exclaimed.

He gave me a minute to calm down before I told him to go on.

"I couldn't take my eyes off of you when I first entered and saw you on the staircase. I kept making sure you were there so that once I was done greeting and talking to everyone I had to, I could come over."

"And you did," I pointed out. He nodded once more, this time a bit sadder than the first.

"And we talked and laughed and kissed," he added. His eyes were glazed with a twinkling reminisce.

"And you promised you were going to come to the next party," I started, a thick lump collecting in my throat, one that was too hard to swallow, "But you didn't and when my servant told me what happened to you-." I had to stop myself.

I squeezed my eyes shut as little tears slipped through the cracks. I'll never forget the look on Keon Hee's face when he delivered the news to me. . .

After That Night - The Second Party
Part 1

I observed myself in the mirror, proud of the suit Keon Hee and I searched for specifically for this one party. It was a purely white piece with beautiful royal blue floral embroidery ascending bottom up on the right side of the jacket with gold ringed buttons lining the front. The pants faded into a delicate lace at the ankles. We decided to finish off the look with a pair of white Oxfords.

Butterflies fluttered around in my stomach causing me to manifest his reaction to seeing me. One I liked in particular was him stopping in his tracks at the sight of me, almost dropping the drink in his hand. I would walk over and tap him back into reality and he'd gulp, unable to process what he was seeing.
