"Who was it?" Somi asked while chewing on her bread.

Y/N smiled at her phone and replied, "Jennie. She wanted to take me out tomorrow."

Somi choked on her bread and Y/N immediately passed her water, saying, "I told you to eat carefully!"

"I-I know," Somi replied after gulping down the water and then looked at her best friend with eyebrows raised. "Did she just ask you out on a date?"

Y/N scratched the back of her neck while blushing a little, saying, "...Maybe? I don't know."

Somi put the glass on the office table and stood up, saying, "Y/N! The Kim Jennie asked you out on a date! How are you sitting and not shouting at the top of your lungs?!"

"I... It's complicated, Somi," she said and leaned back in her elite chair, "She just had her break-up and I'm not too enthusiastic about assuming things which I know can't happen."

"What...?" Somi blurted out with a perplexed expression. "Care to elaborate your statement."

Y/N sighed out and said, "It's not like I'm not excited for this... date. But, I don't think she feels the same way I do. She thinks of me as more of a friend than--"

"--Girlfriend," Somi interrupted and Y/N blushed at her reply.

"Stop it, Somi. She's not my girlfriend and never will be," Y/N said while distracting herself with her laptop.

"You don't know if you don't try, Y/N. Try to find out if she likes you too or not tomorrow," Somi said, "I'm sure she likes you too, though."

"Can't you just stop and go to your work?" Y/N said, irritated.

Somi laughed loudly knowing how much it annoyed Y/N and said, "I hope you both end up together."

Y/N's face blushed scarlet red and she shouted, "Get out of my office!"

Somi got the last laugh and she ran out of the office with a reminder to tease the girl again later.

Y/N looked at herself in the mirror for the nth time, checking if she looked good or not. After all, it's their first date together or as Y/N thought it is.

She ran her fingers through her black locks and smoothened the creases on her white loose shirt. Wiping her hands off the bell-bottomed jeans she fumbled with her hand bracelet.

"You look great, Y/N. Trust me," Somi said while shoving her hands in her jeans pocket.

They were in Y/N's room as it was time for her date and as a great friend she is, Somi came to help Y/N out of her nerves.

"Don't be nervous and don't stutter. You can do it," Somi encouraged her while patting her back.

Y/N took a deep breath and looked again in the mirror reciting, "Hey, Jennie-- No, it would be too normal. Hey, Jen-- No, this is casual... What about... Hey, hun-- What?! No, it will weird her out--"

"Y/N! Listen to me!" Somi turned her around and grabbed her shoulders tightly, saying, "It will be fine! You're overthinking this too much."

Y/N shrugged off her hands and glared at her, saying, "You don't know anything about this! I want to make a good impression on our first date..."

She sat down on the bed and rested her head in her head. Sighing, Somi sat next to her and said, "Y/N, be yourself. You're very charming on your own you don't have to prepare anything. Go with the flow."
